Um, Zalman Z700? Is that a new version of VF-700? I can't seem to find a single reference to a Zalman Z700 anywhere on the web..?

Hmm. Seems they are gearing Heathru at heat spreaders. I can see amd fx or intel ee cpu's with this stuff in the spreader. Perhaps even with thin film thermoelectrics in them. 20% higher performance! 20 times the price! Sorry for going way off topic. Maybe we should start a separate thread ab...

Well, aluminium sure isn't good for your health but it's nowhere near as reactive as sodium which creates hot hydrogen when reacting with water. Bad Thing<tm>. Beryllium oxide is already used in stuff like high power radio transmitters because it transports heat effectively while still being a very ...

Ok, a bit off topic here but... That thermal conductivity of diamond is veeery nice! Looking at the page you linked to it's suggested that ordinary graphite can also transfer heat very very well, at least along it's layers. Wonder if that couldn't be used in heatsinks? Maybe it's too fragile or some...

About cool n quiet, did you also install the amd cpu-driver? I got an asus CnQ monitoring utility with my motherboard which I can use to check how the clock frequency goes up and down in real time. I enabled CnQ in BIOS and set power management to minimum in windows xp, but I didn't change anything ...

I have a silverstone tj-06 case which has a hinged door on the front. I made an aluminium panel and placed it in the 5.25" slots and then attached 4*zalman fan-mates on it. This way it's hidden from view but is easily accessible by just opening the door. It's not too bad looking either :) Don't know...

No, the stock fans are from Everflow. They're not the standard everflow fans though. I bought one of those and it was really awful. The stock tj-06 fans are basically inaudible up to 5-6v (I think, at just above minimum setting on zalman fanmate 2 anyway). Yate Loon is a good tip. Thank you. I'll tr...

Silverstone TJ-06 stock 120mm versus Nexus?
I'm pretty satisfied with the sound level of the 120mm fans included with my Silverstone TJ-06 case. However, since (like most here) I'm getting more and more obsessive over noise I'm thinking about switching to Nexus fans instead. Is it worth it? They're quite expensive and I'll have to ship them i...

Hmm, that one seems interesting. Wonder if I can find a reseller in Sweden... As for the mounts, it's very strange they have released a product with that kind of problems. I'm not all that concerned though. Sure it's nice if it works right away but if it doesn't I'll just try and make something myse...

Somehow I really doubt that it will be comparable to a water cooling system, except perhaps with the fan at turbo speed. That doesn't prevent if from being really good though. Really looking forward to a spcr review too :) Btw, It's hard to tell from the pictures but the fan is direct backwards righ...

Heatpipe north bridge cooler!
Found a link on the inquirer to cool master's new north bridge cooler, CM Blue Ice . I think it makes some sense. The zalman ZM-NB47J passive cooler on the north bridge of my Asus A8VE-Deluxe gets very very high, so I've added a Panaflo 80mm @ 5V to cool it down a bit. I'm not very exited about the ...

SST Guy, thank you so much for that information! Looks like my Asus A8V-E Deluxe motherbord is "type b" so i can't use nt01 with the wind tunnel on. I'll try doing some measurements and checking dimensions of various heatsink too see which fits. If I screw up I guess I'll just have to do some more w...

Bluefront, thanks for your reply! I see what you mean. The nt01 was mostly included in the list because it's pretty much guaranteed to fit in the the tj-06, and at least it should work better than the xp-120 I have now. The tunnel in this case is nowhere near as efficient as a "real" duct, so my ide...

Tower cooler in Silverstone TJ-06?
Hi everyone! Long time reader, first time poster... This site has helped med a lot in building my (almost) silent computer. My hat off to all of you, thank you! So on to my question. Currently I have a thermalright xp-120 in my silverstone tj-06 case. This has turned out to be a really bad idea. Fir...
