Re: Seasonic G360W gold for $60 - Review & Giveaway!

thanks kuzzia and casteve. i will pay for the silence. i will go with the X560 because for some reason the 650 has numerous DOA reviews. unless someone has more insight. =) How about 56 reviewers for the 560 vs 391 for the 650? Just a numbers game... true, but the ratio of 5star to 1star is much be...

Re: Seasonic G360W gold for $60 - Review & Giveaway!

So, Seasonic has posted 450, 550, and 650W versions in the G-series: http://www.seasonicusa.com/G-series-450-550-650.htm Right now the 550 is $100 at newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151119 Obviously no reviews, but anyone have a guess as to if performance is similar ...

since you have a core 2 duo, speedfan should report the temperatures of each core. (unless i am mistaken.) go get the beta of speedfan and you ought to be able to see the core temperatures directly. or use the intel thermal analysis tool.

@ wowimsocute - you have great temps, really low for passive 7600gt - i guess you have v nice airflow. the bg cards i've seen would go up up to 90 degrees under stress - too much for my liking, but still within factory safety limits. it could be sample variance, it could be some other factors, dunn...

I'm planning to also do a DS3 / Ninja setup. I have never heard that filing down the Ninja was necessary for this motherboard. Can you please elaborate? In this thread, http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=35732 , the JohnC stated that no modifications were necessary to the Ninja. I...

http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getarticle&articID=472 So does Core 2 need high speed memory to shine? The answer is a resounding no! This is different from AMD AM2 where more expensive memory is needed to get the most out of the system. On Intel Core 2 pure synthetic memory bandwidth benchmarks sh...

What is wrong with the HDs being suspended? Do they slide freely? That shouldn't happen really. Elastic suspension seems to be a good way to let air flow freely through the HDs. But how would you do the HD assembly now? here is what it looks like in the hard drive area in the solo. this is not my i...

how does the ninja fit with the pushpins? does it feel secure, secure enough to take to a lan or on the road without major precautions? i read on some other forums that the pushpins are insecure, but i wanted to know your opinion since i saw your pictures. i put the ninja on before i put the mother...

to me, the hard drive doesnt seem to make much noise in the xbox. i am guessing it is the power supply or fans inside that makes all the noise. now there is a project: silencing xbox fans.

Have you checked the hard drive temperature? on this seagate, it ranges anywhere from 26-37C. Usually hovers about 34-35. I haven't tried putting load on it because I'm not sure how. What version Speedfan are you using and did you have to do anything in particular to make it work? How did you setup...

Quiet Core 2 Duo, Solo, Ninja, Gigabyte DS3, SilentPipe VGA

After much reading, debating, and obsessing, I have finally bought everything and put everything together. I am writing this to "myself." I think I would have found some of these comments useful, so maybe someone else would too. I know this is a big post, but I like my new quiet computer. I'd love t...

thanks for the replies. i did manage to get a s12-380 in a nearby store. it was irritating how some online stores were sold out and others had the wrong information or not-so-hot ratings.

havent built the machine yet, but will soon :o

Power Usage Comparison Q: Seasonic S12-380 vs S12-430

For a while, I've been set on the 380w version. I didn't go with the 330w because the 380w is supposedly quieter, and I don't think I need 430w (C2D E6300, 7600GT). Trouble is, I can't find the 380 right now, so I may get the 430w. Question: Will the 430w version use more power (from the wall) and g...

I got answer from Scythe and they confirmed that the new mounting mechanism for 775 can be troublesome if there are enything very close to the socket as in P5B Deluxe, Gigabyte DS*, Abit AB9 etc. They really screwed this one. so, when you say "troublesome," do you mean "difficult, but works stock" ...
