...but with 1 or 2 fans on it loses its size advantage (all being 2 slots) while performing similarly to what the S1 does passive. that would depend on case air flow, but i seriously doubt the s1 passive would even come close to this given the same environment and testing conditions. i guess we'll ...

i don't think it was ment to be used passive, as the fins are rather small compared to those coolers you mentioned. it was ment to take up less space using fans (which it does, compared to those two coolers).

i'm using a zalman vf700-cu on an ati x700 pro. fan voltage is motherboard controlled (set at the minimum of 8 volts on abit an8-ultra). i have no idea about the card's temperature, but i can overclock to at least x700 xt speeds and there are no artifacts after several hours of gaming (with fan stil...

why not test for yourself? i don't think the corners are of much significance; the core is small and located at the very center of the chip.

i would test myself, but #1 i'm watercooled, and it's a pain to take the block off compared to a HSF and #2, i cut the IHS off of my processor.

in that case, i'd shoot for a seasonic s12-500. 20+4 pin, an 8-pin server 12v plug (dfi's xfire mobo uses one of those), and 2 6-pin PCIe plugs. plenty for today and tomarrow.

you probably just need to bleed the system. you can try pinching the radiator inlet tube a few times, or as previously mentioned tilt the computer on one side or another (always make sure the pump is getting water, and not sucking in air from the res).

i like to click as few things as possible, thus the desktop icons. just the usual my computer, recycle bin, download / document folders, a couple aps (benchmarking stuff since i'm stress-testing my computer now) and my games. more frequently used things are in the quicklaunch. everything else is in ...

you could always try remounting it if it bothers you. i also have the vf700-cu on a x700 pro; it doesn't move much at all. granted, i don't actually TRY to move it lol. if you do remount it, make sure the two nipple pieces are nice and tight (finger-tight). if they are sort of loose, they might caus...

is it really loud enough to throw the warranty away? speaking of which, my 430w is pretty damn quiet! but anyhow... if you are going to open it, you may as well identify what capacitors seasonic is using (rubycon, nichicon, fuhjyyu, sanyo, panasonic, etc. try not to get shocked!). maybe someone with...

you'll have to look at the box (or the fan used). look down this page and you'll see . also, the new versions have the 20+4 main atx harness instead of the 24-pin, with a 24 to 20-pin adapter. if it was purchased within the last month, it's probably the newer version. obviously it's too early to tel...

well, i ordered a S12-430w from xoxide and it got here wednesday (ordered friday, shipped monday). it is the updated version. also, another person here said he got a 330w from newegg which was also the new version, so i guess they are in circulation. the only cap i've been able to identify was a rub...

revised seasonic S12; caps?

first question - does anyone know if the revised S12s' are for sale yet (i.e., from newegg, xoxide, etc). second question - this should've been covered in the review (in all PSU reviews really), what capacitors does seasonic use for the S12 series? i had four 3300uF 10v "Fuhjyyu" caps leak on me in ...
