Re: Ultra loud ?
Thanks, I didn't know you could disable PWM in hardware. Good to know for future reference. However, after a bit more web searching I discovered that the motherboard manufacturer has published a BIOS upgrade that includes a "Smart Fan" temperature-based control function. Everything is quiet now and...

Re: Ultra loud ?
Thanks for your helpful responses! I temporarily disconnected the 2 case fans and started the computer with only the Coolermaster fan running. It was still extremely noisy, so yup, the Coolermaster was the problem. I tried speedfan, and was able to decrease the CPU fan speed. The volume is now reas...

Re: Ultra loud ?
This article gave the Coolermaster 48 very positive reviews as far as noise is concerned. So, I just bought & installed this CPU cooler in my generic computer from Fry's, because the stock cooler sounded like a vacuum cleaner. Well, now the computer sounds like a louder vacuum cleaner. I'm not norm...

sorry, I didn't read very carefully. I saw your old case and thought it was the 3000B you were talking about and the HDD cage was sideways...anyway its all clear now and I am all for the suspending, I think suspending with good "chewey" material is superior to rubber grommets (though the soft P180 ...

This is odd, I could have sworn the 3000B has straight HDD slots, not sideways like the BQE? Ah well, nice build! -Ken You're correct, but I decided to suspend them sideways. I did try suspending them straight but my top hard drive would have very little gap between it and the graphics card. So I d...

Need some suggestions for a PSU
I need some suggestions on a quiet PSU thats more than capable of handling my computer. My specs are as follow: Asus A8N-E Deluxe Athlon 64 3200+ Venice core (OC'd to 2100 MHz at 1.45V. I'll OC higher once I get new case and maybe lower temp.) 2 X 512MB PQI PC3200 RAM (2-3-3-5) Cooler Master Hyper 4...

Thanks a bunch guys. Well I pulled the trigger on the SLK3000B on Amazon, the last one Amazon had in stock. I hope its as good as everyone says it is and it comes in fine. I'll probably build the thing piece by piece as I'm planning to get a seasonic s12 500W. (At the moment I'm not sure if its more...

I'll definitely put the SLK3000B as one of my top choices. Now from what I understand, the Antec SLK3000B doesn't have a side window option? I kinda wanted a case with a window so I could put a blue cathode on the side unless of course its impractical when it comes to silent PC's. Also, after search...

Case Recommendation Help...
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum but I've been through the website a few times and read a few of the recommendation articles. I wanted some help in choosing a case and maybe other components. At the moment my current PC rig is as follows: Thermaltake Xaser III w/side window Thermaltake 480 Silent ...
