What hard drive do you currently have, and what sore of noise is it making? (whine? resonance? seek noise?) The external boxes with gel packs are generally placed inside the computer. I've made a few for the kids old computers and they work a treat. Then there's always the commercially made hard dri...

My experiences: 2x Samsung 173plus screens (external power supply) - dead silent Samsung 226bw - mild buzz only heard from behind from 2-3". Dell 2407HC - first two were disgracefully loud, and had to be returned. The third one has a mild buzz, but acceptable. It disappears at 100% brightness (which...

Re: Failed :(
Bought a new P150 + Neo HE430 at Provantage last week (2/6/07). Got my case+PSU shipped real fast. PSU S/N: 05110070024 I can't believe that in Feb 07 there's _still_ issues with this PSU... -Leto What I find hard to believe is that in Feb 07 someone is selling a 'new' HE430 that was made in Novemb...

Get one of these. Few bucks only. Most PC shops would have them.

If you consider getting a Neo HE, just ensure that that it is an A4 revision (will be on the back of the box in tiny print above a blue dot, on the serial number sticker). The serial number should be recent (eg S0606... indicating a production run in June 2006). It seems like most of the problem Neo...

My tip would be stay away from the Phantom 350W. I'm not sure if Antec are even selling them anymore. I've been through 2 in 12 months, and on the last failure Antec said they can't fix or replace a 350 anymore - just offer an 'upgrade' to the 500W (a 350W with a fan strapped on). Reports indicate t...

I'm confused guys. When I go to buy this power supply, how can I ensure that I get a A4 without opening the box and check the serial number? If you're just buying the power supply, then the serial number and revision code is on the back of the retail box. If you're buying it preinstalled in a P150 ...

I ripped an old 330W truepower supply out of one of the kids computers. They are not too thrilled about it. 8) Unfortunately seasonics are only available in Sydney, and I like the idea of getting a PSU locally in view of my RMA experience. I finally heard back from the retailer today. Antec won't re...

MY PHANTOM DIED LAST NIGHT. TOOK only 3 WEEKS. ARGGGH! It was suppose to be one of the new ones. Oh well. RMA. Ironically it is only 'almost silence', because the thing is still giving coil whine. Laughing It appears the name chosen has less to do with phantom 'unheard' noise, but more to do with M...

Although, I'm put off by the NVidia 4 SLI power consumption and there doesn't seem to be an obvious candidate for the job. Only the SLI boards support RAID5 with AMD chips. Not entirely true. What about A8N-VM CSM. = nforce 430 chipset. Supports RAID 5. Gigabit LANx2,. Firewire. Passive chipset hea...

i personally prefer linksys. if i got one that made noises i'd just return it until i got one that doesnt. as I have said I bought around 5 of them. My friend has bought more than that and all have. I don't think that would be responsible to keep on returning them for a slight hiss. It never claime...

You might be better off considering a dual core 3800+ rather than 4400+, when considering bang for buck. Apparently the 3800 are quite sweet when it comes to overclocking. Yes, I'm a hypocrite, as I have a 4400+. But, if I'd known what I know now I would have saved the dollars and gone the 3800. (Or...

Its not the duct, the LG drive has two sets of holes like the drive-rails, two different depths and two different heights, its placed in the holes that place it further in.. I just checked it to be absolutely shure. Its the LG 4167RB wich should be the most recent model. Here´s a couple of pictures...

How many harddrives are you planning on suspending??? I presume it comes with at least three sets of rubber bands, and unless you are suspending more than two drives, you should be sweet. That said, as being part of the case, it should be covered under warrenty, so I'd try the vendor who sold it as ...

In all my experiments with gel packs in the year prior to making the enclosure, I noticed no condensation effects whatsoever under a variety of climatic conditions. As I wrote in a thr...
