What hard drive do you currently have, and what sore of noise is it making? (whine? resonance? seek noise?) The external boxes with gel packs are generally placed inside the computer. I've made a few for the kids old computers and they work a treat. Then there's always the commercially made hard dri...

hawkboy,

What are you current system components? (case, PSU, HDDs, CPU / CPU cooler, Fans/voltage etc).
It would probably make more sense to identify the noisiest components and work on those. It's certainly not difficult to produce a low noise system, or are you after a completely silent rig?

If you consider getting a Neo HE, just ensure that that it is an A4 revision (will be on the back of the box in tiny print above a blue dot, on the serial number sticker). The serial number should be recent (eg S0606... indicating a production run in June 2006). It seems like most of the problem Neo...

My tip would be stay away from the Phantom 350W. I'm not sure if Antec are even selling them anymore. I've been through 2 in 12 months, and on the last failure Antec said they can't fix or replace a 350 anymore - just offer an 'upgrade' to the 500W (a 350W with a fan strapped on). Reports indicate t...

I'm confused guys. When I go to buy this power supply, how can I ensure that I get a A4 without opening the box and check the serial number? If you're just buying the power supply, then the serial number and revision code is on the back of the retail box. If you're buying it preinstalled in a P150 ...

OMG, you didn't understate things when you said that you hacked up the Zalman NB heatsink! Is there enough 'fronds' left to provide adequate surface area? I reckon you are down to less than 20% of the original surface area. Keep an eye on the temps, being a NF4 board, tend to be a bit toasty.

Far right connector looks like GND (?ground).
As far as being the mythical converter, - seems a bit clumsy. It would take up at least a 3 1/2" bay..
Perhaps it allows them to demonstrate the case with fans on etc, without a motherboard attatched? Just guessing.
