Re: New SPCR design & management

Looks like GN has been working hard. Pt 1 (of 3!) video describing the ~$250,000 hemi-anechoic chamber they built for testing products in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUqYTenB2A0 I wonder how the testing will be incorporated into their existing content. Will it be a feature of it's own (ala SPCR...

The duct merely cut the HD temp a degree or two, does anyone else have a 1.5+ year old WD blue and can compare HD temps? I guess I'm trying to make a P180 out of a Solo  . Mine usually run 40-45 FWIW. Have a couple pre "Blue" designations and a couple Blue's but the one constant is pretty weak...

Nice. I had a chance to grab 3 of the wyse WinCE models with the AMD Geode processors for free but passed on them. Sounded like too much of a hassle and I have enough stuff around the house I don't use :P

Glad someone could put one of these type of things to use.

I looked at that plasma at Costco as well--they had their demo loop running instead of a movie and the 1024x768 resolution was very apparent, very jaggy text and angles. Was a bit above our price range and desires anyway (well, the wife's ;) ) so we got a 32" LCD. I have heard the talk of plasmas go...

Even worse for me. Wouldn't have read the review (of some tower heatsink like mentioned above) but happened to see this in the forum topics sidebar this morning. What about the usual donating setup? There was the article on here where MikeC shipped one overseas, filled the case with some padding I believe (air bags?). Should be fairly effective I would imagine, just have to make sure they take them out on arrival. Or try to find one where the backplate or whatnot can be setup and mounted to the...

I've got a Sempron 2600 you could have for the price of shipping (12.78 USD currently) if you can't find anything local.

For that matter, I have a Sempron 3400 and socket 754 board I'm looking to sell as a combo if you're interested.

In my WHS I have:

640GB WD Blue
1TB WD Green (EADS)
1.5TB F2
2x 1.5TB WD Green (EARS)

The Sammy is definitely noisier. Also it somehow uses its serial number as its name so that always goes to far and overruns columns and irks me.

Obviously big changes, but depends on where in the purchasing spectrum you lie. At a minimum, you will be going dual core IMO. Intel has made some tremendous improvements, but AMD is still viable. And obviously there are tri/quad/hex cores out there now depending on your needs. Video cards--massive,...
