The MSI may be aluminum also, I have never taken it off-or scratched it to see if it is just painted. The next time I have the case open, I will check but not a big deal either way-doubt the Zalman is better-definately smaller.

Thanks for the replies.

Thanks, the Zalman is actually, smaller, thinner, shorter and appears to be aluminum while the stock MSI is larger and made of copper-I will stick with that one (might remove it and add AS 5 though).

I wonder if your fan is louder than mine, with it in the case-I cannot hear it at all. The one time I did not have the fan plugged in, the case was open, so lack of airflow would be doubtful. Either way I don't plan on spending anytime looking into it. No worries if your temps don't get high-so I gu...

Different results here...

I have a simular system. I have the aluminum version though. My system shuts down after less than a minute without the VF700 fan on, but with the fan set to "Silent", it has not gone above 60c after 1 hour of BF2, and idle temps are about 48-50c. Also, I cannot hear the fan at all in this mode. (but...

Please help me decide between these two p/s

I have decided to upgrade my exisiting socket A system with a little more graphic performance for gaming and MUCH less noise for my ears. I think I have narrowed my search down to either the Seasonic Super Silencer 400w or the Nexus 400w. Both should have more than enough power for my system, and fr...
