Hello, You cannot make any judgments by looking at the numbers published for various fans; they are all over the map. Having said that: if the Tri-Cool on low is quiet enough for you -- what are the temps that you are seeing that you think need to be lower? im sure my temps are "fine", but im doing...

Looking for upgrade over Antec TriCool "LOW"
Looking for something that pushes more air than the Antec TriCool "Low" but produces the same amount of silence. took the top door off... I'm curious... How's the temps before and after? that fan grill at the lower hdd cages is pretty useless, they should have put enough space to fit a fan there like the antec 900  I agree. 58 vs 50 my ambient temp is pretty cold because my pc sits in the basement and i...

Why is the Corsair HX620 more expensive than the TX750?
I'm looking to upgrade to a HX620 not because of power requirements, but rather because of my want for modular cables + improved silence. Right now I'm running a OCZ GameXstream 600W with 5 120mm fans at 5-7V on my P182B and I think the OCZ is the loudest component. Reviews at SPCR shows that the HX...

my PSU cant support 6 120mm fans?
I had 5 120mm fans running in my P182B...I just connected the 6th one beside the PSU and it won't move and to make matters worse one has died, so only 4 spin now......my PSU is an OCZ GameXstream 600W, what is going on?

The stock position for the fan in the PSU/hdd chamber naturally pulls air from the intake vent at front -- there is no other source of air. Moving the fan to the front doesn't really change the total airflow through the chamber, although it may make cable management easier in the middle. You'll get...

Which " lower " chamber are you referring to? The one right under the 5.25" drives (aka the middle chambers) or the very last one on the bottom (I call this the lower chamber)? AFAIK, the lower HDD chamber has no front 120mm fan.....and for the middle HDD chamber, I can't put drives there if I want...

One easy way to help airflow is to remove the front doors... or mod them. Read this article: http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=44067 Yeah that was also one thing I was planning to do...... on the top of page 2 - http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=44067&postdays=...

Q1. Try putting an exhaust and see if it helps bring down temperatures. Dont use it to blow air into the case. In my case, prior to changing to my 8800gt, blocked or unblocked, fan or no fan it didn't do much to temperatures so I just sealed it off prevent dust from dropping in since I didnt need a...

Need help on my new P182 build =)..any simple mods?
I actually had the P182B for 2 months and ran 5x120mm fans for that period of time, but found that other than improved aesthetics, the P182B didn't offer me enhanced cooling performance or silence over my old SLK3700AMB case . I guess that's why I'm here now - to seek suggestions from the pros....

Your job as a reviewer is to review and evaluate the fans in the most simplest terms...... Im pretty sure Felger isnt a reviewer on SPCR. "Just" a silence enthusiast. Sure, but he's been here awhile, he certainly knows what he's talking about, and he posted this under User Reviews :D. Am I really b...

I didn't see a verdict section, so what's the bottomline? I've provided some noise measurements, all made under constant airflow (CFM) conditions in free air. [Fan measurements made in expensive acoustic testing facilities are also all made in free air.] The simplest bottom line is, at constant air...

P182 - Why ignore the top fan?
I've seen a few people cover up the top fan. Why so?
Was there an article somewhere that pointed out to better airflow without the top fan?

I also hear that 120x38mm fans cannot be placed in front of the HDDs. This is true. I tried to cram it into the upper front-intake space last night and a 120x38 will not fit in front of the upper drive bay in its stock configuration. You can *almost* fit it in without the plastic mounting shim. It ...
