Mini P180 $49.99 at NCIX US
Just found this deal on NCIX and figured I'd share. They're selling the Mini P180 for $49.99. http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=51309&vpn=MiniP180White&manufacture=Antec You need at least $50 to qualify for free shipping, though, which is a pain. You're only a penny short if you aren't buying anythin...

I own a H61 board--a Gigabyte H61M-D2P-B3. You can undervolt it--or at least change the dynamic Vcore.ph7 wrote:But can I really do the undervolting with a H61 board?
I managed to shave off 8 watts or so on a Pentium G620--it's pretty low end, but still Sandy Bridge.

80 Plus... from Raidmax?
I was looking around for a more efficient power supply than what I have now (NeoHE 430), then I found this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152039 It's got 80 Plus bronze, which is nothing to scoff at. It's also 400W, perfectly reasonable. Lastly, it's $30 after rebate... Bu...

Hello! I'm selling an EVGA GeForce 9600 GSO 384MB card. Recently acquired a HD4670 and this has got to go. It makes an excellent folding card--it's an earlier version with 96 stream processors! I've had some luck in buying and selling here, so here I am again. I've got nothing in heatware, so here's...

GeForce 7600 GTS with modded Zalman heatsink
Got a 7600 GTS (7600 GS with GT clock speed and GDDR3 memory) for sale. It has VF700-Cu in it, but the fan has been removed due to the fact that it runs cool enough without it. I'd ship the fan with it, but I can't find it at the moment, so that's that. Will ship it with component video adapter, $25...

Hmm--I'll try to give an advice the best I can, although I am not that seasoned myself. The case, I think, is fine, but the fans on it are worrisome. They're tiny and they have a potential to make the case noisy. Plus, I don't think the Thermalright heatsink you stated would fit in it. Try for some ...

Re: Keep it or sell it? Question over an old computer
Thanks for the replies! If you enjoy fiddling with things though, there's loads of options - you could install Linux and build a fileserver, a firewall/router/gateway, a web server, email server... the possibilities are endless really... It would only involve the cost of the HDDs (which you'd have t...

Keep it or sell it? Question over an old computer
Ok, so I have recently acquired an old Dell XPS T600r. It was pretty good in its heyday, which is almost a decade ago--but it's pretty slow, and even with 640MB of RAM and GeForce 2 MX in the slot, it cannot do much. Plus the fans are pretty loud. So here is my question: should I keep this computer?...

Silencing SP1612N
Hey guys, I have an older rig with micro ATX case. It was making a racket when I built it from leftover parts--and I pinpointed the source of noise (well, worst offender anyway) to my old Samsung hard drive. I tried to silence it with a few different methods (putting it on foam, suspending it...) to...

WD1600AAJS
So I bought a new hard drive--WD1600AAJS--because my old hard drive started whining a bit and became slower. I decided that, as it has one 160GB platter, this would fit the bill--it did, in a way. The idling is quiet, really near silent. There's less of the noise than my old SP1612N--which is quite ...

Okay--gotcha. Funny thing, though; newegg doesn't seem to have the WD1600AAJS. I wonder if they sell it under the same designation, and I must take my chances? Or should I get one from elsewhere? I'd just rather pick one up at Best Buy because they're in retail packaging, but they're just vanilla JS...

AA?
I was looking around Tom's Hardware and found Western Digital hard drive with designation WD1600AAJS--I haven't seen the "AA" designation before. My Samsung is starting to develop somewhat louder seek sound, so I figure it's time for a hard drive change. Is "AA" model any different from the regular ...

I agree, as for me as long as chipsets can be cooled passively it's all fine. As for something single-core CPU and chipsets, I'm not a huge fan of semi-proprietary chipsets for Mobile Pentium / Core Solos. How about Turion 64s? They're (I think) faster than your Northwood, and even if the mobos don'...

With the right motherboard the non-C'n'Q "E6" revision Sempron 2600+ can run cooler than any of the C'n'Q E6 chips. I didn't know that; it might be an okay idea to try underclocking then. But then, I honestly don't want to semi-permanently make my chip slower... if the stuff on my computer fired up...
