I don't think I'll be selling my 7800GTX for one of these. June should see the arrival of the G80 with (if the rumours are true) 48 pixel pipelines, Direct X 10, pixel shader 4, 2500mhz DDR4 and most intriguingly the first dual core GPU with a possible 800mhz speed (cooling that could be interesting)

I had a P180 but was disappointed and went back to my Akasa Eclipse. I know other people like the P180 but in my case I got a 5C temp rise (caused mostly by the PSU location I think-its a great idea but better thermal insulation would make it work so much better), I thought the P180's finish was uni...

I'll be giving these a miss, my 7800GTX is fast enough and thanks to Asus Smartdoctor its the quietest card I've had in years (idles at 40C and only 20% fan speed on the prefitted Arctic Cooler). Its only a few months till the G80 is due with rumours of Direct X 10, 2500mhz DDR4 and the first dual c...

If you have a choice beyond the Leadtek/ Dell 7800GTX the Asus 7800GTX Top is factory fitted with a Silencer and now Asus Smartdoctor works at last mine never gets above 40% fan speed/20% at idle so its very quiet. The Akasa Fan Control Pro is a good controller, introduces no noise but is 7-12v so w...

I have the Premium and considered upgrading to the 32 so I looked into it quite deeply. It appears the 32 is only worth it if you're going to SLI, the extra cooling is to cope with the extra chip needed to provide the extra bandwidth for the high speed SLI. I've had no problems cooling the Premium, ...

I've got an Akasa Eclipse and I'm happy with it. The black all aluminium construction has a brushed finish that's VERY durable, there's a removable motherboard tray, the hard drive cage is removable (I floor mounted my HD in a Zalman cage), there's an extra hard drive cage that can be installed near...

Another vote for the Asus Premium from me, I've used one for six months without a single crash, lockup or problem. Bios are rock solid and with sufficient options. Temperatures are absolutely fine, no problems plugging things into it, my Thermalright SI-120 was easy to fit and left me room to remove...

Nothing will ever induce me to use any form of thermal pad again after my experience with an Akasa Shinetsu. It was easy to apply and worked perfectly but the fun started when I wanted to remove the heatsink. Releasing the clamp on the Arctic Cooler and giving it the slight pull and twist produced n...

Had a Deluxe, after 6 months the fan got REALLY annoying, sold it and bought a Premium. Not one inexplicable lock up or crash, an absolutely rock solid board. Haven't overclocked it. Thought of buying a 32 but seems to be unstable, I don't use Sli, space around CPU is tight for coolers and I've had ...

I've got one of these cards and I'm happy with it. I'd say it seems a touch louder than the AC on my 6800GT but the pitch is lower so its less noticable (could be down to individual product sample). Temp on the card is 37C idle. Rest of the cooling is Thermalright SI-120/Nexus, Acoustifan Dustproof ...

Acoustic foam under the VGA card
This is just a simple idea others have probably thought of but I'm posting it in the hope it might be of some small use to someone. When I removed my sound card I noticed my graphics card sounded louder. I guessed the sound card was absorbing the noisy air blown from the VGA card which would otherwi...

Asus A8N32-Sli and Scythe Ninja/Shogun advice needed
I'm planning on buying the Asus A8N32 motherboard and I'd ideally like to go for the Scythe Ninja with Nexus fan combo but I'd appreciate some help with the following. Firstly, would the Ninja and fan fit on the board? If there's insufficeient clearance, could the wire retainer be bent to raise the ...
