It's a waste of money. If you want to make a huge difference, put a ton of weights on it firmly (like a big heatsink on the bottom and top and sides), then soft mount it, give it proper breathing room, and damping materials.

Unlikely. Assuming everything is normal, you're looking at at least 1cm for the standoffs, about another 8-10 mm for the cpu in the socket, and then the cpu. Added up, it's not enough. Then, assuming you use the fan the way it's supposed to be used, you're looking at another 10-15 mm higher. Try som...

I have a thermalright v1 on my 6600. works Very well, but it might not fit on your board seeing how close the pci-e is to the chipset and cpu. it DOEs work VERY well on passive, under 40 idle ...

Hmm, there's a few things that could be better: 1. Corsair HX 620. it's quiet, but not the quietest you can get. 2. Drop the fan grilles. 3. hard drives need room to breathe. Plus, suspension = no vibration = win 4. wire management. eeww to those dfi cables. coulda used the ones the board came with?...

I'd vote for cutting the entire tube out. it doesn't take that much time. Maybe a minute for dremeling the sides, then another minute for removing the actual tube for that. That leaves you at 8 minutes for the entire fan. Give it another minute to clean it up, and another minute to attach it, and it...

In my experience with clear antec fans, they are quite lacking compared to others. I recommend you go with the Yate Loon's at jab-tech for only $4 each. I find the orange ones work better than the black ones, honestly.

Rosewell is like a box of chocolate. You never know what you're going to get, except fat. Or screwed, in this case. Rosewell is a grab bag. You can have absolute crap, or something ok. I wouldn't gamble it.

Try the FSP.

Another solution: Dremel + dremel router bit + cutting disk. Cut the two sides, then router out the bottom part. It should just come right off. Faster than both methods.

Well, in a powmax, the components are so non-existant, they can all fit under the fan, even if it IS a 38mm thick.

Maybe it's like the Silverstone FN91 (I think that's it) which uses 80mm mounting, but a 92mm fan. in which case, it would be a 120 or so mm frame, mounting a 150 fan.

Major errors, problems, but an intresting problem. TT would NOT be my first choice for a case for those purposes. The Aluminum they use in the cases isn't as good for silencing as some other cases, the open front makes noise more percieved, and a lot of other stuff. Assuming the cooler really DOES t...

I'd still buy one though, at newegg for cheaper than svc, then gut it of fancy molexes, fancy sleeving, the fan, and the mesh, and then stomp the rest of the crap into the ground.

On the xp90, you dcan't stuff a 120 into there, without significant mods. Try one of those panaflo's, maybe a Nexus / yate loon, scythe, etc. Just avoid the antec tri-cool in 92mm which comes in clear. What we really need, is a 'growth' of ATX, with minor changes, while still being entirely compatable with the vast majority of ATX cases.
