It would be interesting to compare this VS ocz freeze, arctic silver 5 etc (that ocforums.com post is not very trustworthy). I don't see why not. its the compiled results of users from a number of forums. Having a large number of results reduces potential for error. if i give you an OCAU post for e...

Hi, SPCR's testing suggests the Zalman 1000w maintains low noise to the highest power levels of any PSU tested so far. See table on last page for comparison of noise vs power for various PSUs. I believe the 850w version is the same internally and should have very similar acoustics, while the 750w a...

According to this review its already got a decent yate loon fan in it, but fan control isn't agressive enough. http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coolers/display/atx-psu7_18.html Instead of replacing fan, i'd suggest adding a a couple diodes in series with the fan, or resister to lower the fan speed. ...

The ripple specs on that one are insane... I wonder if CWT isn't pushing that platform a bit too far. Ripple under full load Cross-loading graph Ripple is almost ok, but voltage stability is too bad, and 1200 W model (based on the same design) is even worse . Hmm... lets hope they have better voltage regulation than the higher end epsilon series, which to put it nicely are disgusting (what i'd expect of a cheap generic, not high end stuff). and out of spec voltage ripple. see:

Re: Another stout little bugger - 360 watts PCP&C
I like this page: http://www.pcpower.com/technology/myths/ Interesting efficiency information. Thank you for the link. yes very interesting, they do the calcs assuming the psu is running full load for 24/7 365 days a year, ha! Also theres no idle power draw calculations - lots of high wattage psu's...

ahh ok, i was guessing you were one of those people that thinks a more efficient psu = can provide more power compared to equivalent wattage but not as efficient psu. my bad. oh, and if you are on 220v you already have insurance as most of the PSU calculators are based on 120v efficiency which is worse than 220v. according to Wikipedia Quebec is on 220v, is that true for you? its irrelevent, any decent psu does its full wattage rating at 110VAC as well as 240VAC, they a...

This states that they both have three rails and we don't need to be concerned about one getting overloaded as another will be used automatically. a bit of corporate smoke and mirrors there :). Reality is Corsair psu's are single 12V rail, so no issues of overloading 12V rails. http://www.hardwarese...

99% is at load, under idle conditions say < 100w its often 'only' 95%. Keep in mind at < 100w its a only a watt or two extra. Same as claimed efficiency, its always at load (say 50-75% or something). some are worse dropping as low as 80%, eg.

I guess the original Adda is a 1600 rpm fan but in the lower bay there is no mobo (CPU, GPU) heat to take care of so it should be OK to swap for a 1200 rpm fan (Such as S-Flex D) instead. Noise should be lowered considerably then right? A s-flex may work well because its a fluid dynamic bearing fan...

The way the m12 does it is both fans get fed the same voltage/fan controller. The only thing that makes the rear fan not startup is it has a higher startup voltage. This is why its 'rockin' a bit (its got a bit of voltage but not enough to get it spinning), and why if you actually managed get a high...

Any decent 400w and above psu will handle that system, however if your planning on SLI 8800gtx you'll probably want a psu with 4 pcie connectors for convenience. Only really high end psu's like Seasonic m12 700w. Otherwise cheapish psu's like Silverstone element 500w, neo HE 500w, zalman 460b-aps wi...

No psu will be quiet at even 500w, though corsair will be better than most. Corsair hx620w should be fine, especially if your running at stock. Though keep in mind its only got 2 pcie connectors, so you'll have to waste quite a lot of molex's on the 8800gtx. Perhaps consider an 8800gts instead (only...

Should be fine. My psu calc specs it at under 400w even with overclocking, and theres plenty of 'headroom' in the calcs currently. May not be that quiet however, as suggested something like corsair or seasonic will do better as they maintain lower fan speeds at much higher loads (up to 300w compared...
