The reson I choose the Silverstone is I have one in my cuurent Desktop rig, and I find it very quite. Plus it has modular cables. Thansk for the tip about the Seasonic.Chris Chan wrote:And you would by NO MEANS need a 600w PSU. Check out the Seasonic S12-430.

I'm really suprised that Toslink is still around. There's no advantage to an end user over a shielded electrical cable. The audio leaves your CDROM as an electrical signal. Why convert it to optical only to convert it back to electrical? Furthermore, it requires more parts to do it. Toslink is chea...

If you're going to use the receiver's DACs then a motherboard with on-board sound and coax output would be as good as any add-in soundcard. You essentially want dolby/dts pass-thru to your receiver. The only reason to go for an add-in soundcard would be if better linux support was offered. Why not ...

High-End Linux HTPC Component Advice
I’m currently configuring an HTPC. I do not intend to use MCE at all. I will not do any web-surfing or gaming on this HTPC.I will be using it as a PVR, watching and ripping DVDs, and listening to CDs. I want to get rid of my Tivo, and any DRM concerns. I will be using Fedora Core 5 and Myth TV, so...

Re: Been Considering This Case
Well this was definitely a less than stellar review. I'm rather disappointed. I presume you mean our findings disappointed you, not that the review was done poorly. Absolutely! VERY thorough review. Since the case can be completely disassembled, are all the panels of the case in fact ALL ALUMINUM w...

Been Considering This Case
Well this was definitely a less than stellar review. I'm rather disappointed. Considering the price point, and much hyped build quality, I thought the case would earn top marks. :( And although I have been considering this case, this review doesn't completely diminish my enthusiasm for the case, in ...

Yes, xp-120 will fit on a8n32. You cannot put mem in dimm1 (near to cpu socket). One other thing - do you know if "normal" height mem modules will fit under the XP120???? When you install the XP-120, it blocks DIMM # 1. The heatpipes almsot make contact with the module in Dimm #2. So as along as yo...

Re: P180-Phantom350-A8N32-SLI/3800+ System Critique Request
Motherboard: Asus A8N-SLI Premium (no fans!) - should I be looking at the A8N32-SLI Deluxe? Marc No I don't recommend you look at the A8N32-SLI. It's more board than you need. It's a real enthusiats board designed for overclockers. It's in short supply and thus commands a premium price. ($250 or mo...

Thanks for the advice, I think the Ninja may be a bit too tight with a fan so I'm now investigating the new Thermalright SI-120 with a Nexus or possibly a Coolermaster aluminium fan added. I've got an XP-120 on my A8N32-SLI. With the heatpipes facing the memory (it won't fit any other way), you can...
