I can't speak for the ocworkbench bios, but I have no problem with underclocking my Asrock 939Dual-SATA2 with an Opteron 144 using the standard version 1.40 bios that came with the board. As far as I can tell, the only reason for using the ocworkbench bios is that it allows higher overclocking. Most...

I can live with some noise, but the stock fan sounds like an airplane taking off. Have you tried slowing down the fan on the 6600GT? I have a Leadtek PX6600GT TDH Geforce 6600GT 128MB and it's also very noisy with the fan at 100%, but it quiets down alot by just slowing down the fan a bit. Assuming...

Antec Performance CPU Cooler
Is anyone aware of any reviews on the Antec Performance CPU Cooler ? I just happened to see it on Antec's site today and don't remember hearing anything about it before. Is it new? Hmm, I just read the specifications and it is small, fairly light, and has a fast, noisy 70mm fan. Off hand, I would su...

There is a thermal sensor in the PSU already and it will s[peed up the PSU fan if things get too hot in there, so... the best thing to do is just try it. Yes, I knew that there was a sensor controling the fan speed in the PSU. In fact, I remember you saying, in a past review, that the fan controlle...

I guess my goal was to have one fan serve three purposes: Cool the CPU Cool the PSU Exhaust all of the warm air from the case If that were possible, the 120mm fan in the Seasonic PSU could be the only fan in the system assuming the air intakes were properly positioned to have cool air flow past the ...

PSU as CPU fan
I'm thinking about building a custom case and was wondering whether I could position my Seasonic S12-380 directly above an XP-120 and use the PSU's 120mm fan to suck air through the XP-120. The PSU fan would be in an almost identical position as a normal fan connected to an XP-120. Would the Seasoni...

How does the trend toward HTPC or SFF systems fit in? There appear to be some trade offs here between compact size and ease of access/modification. Also, how about standardization? I suspect that a case that's quiet with good cooling but that won't accept your choice of components would not be OK. O...

I rebuilt my primary system with an ASrock 939Dual-Sata2 and Opteron 144 last month and have had no serious problems with it.
