Re: Cooler Master Cosmos II Ultra Tower Case - silent?

I am still on the search for a case which could help reduce noise of about 10 hdds and sofar the Cosmos II seems the best candidate... I wonder how well the coming 900d from Corsair will be in that aspect ? I am still monitoring this topic, for the same reason :). I think the Cosmos II is still bet...

Re: Nanoxia Deep Silence 1

This looks like a potential successor to my Antec P180. But what I can't figure out from the reviews is if I will still get significant air intake from the front fans if I actually use all the 8 HDD sleds for 3.5" HDDs. (And the 3x 5.25" slots that now have some airflow-allowing mesh would probably ...

Re: Cooler Master Cosmos II Ultra Tower Case - silent?

I would be happy to see an SPCR review on it :). Many reviewers pay little attention to for example how dampening the mounting of the HDDs is. The review its up, SPCR Cooler Master Cosmos II: Ultra Tower Case . Thanks. The review writes roughly what I expected. Awesome specs, silence not so terribl...

Re: Cooler Master Cosmos II Ultra Tower Case - silent?

I can see why you like the cosmos II, similar to XL, has 6 hdd bays on the bottom and i think 5 on top. But the plus that i do see on the cosmos II is that if the hot plug slots are removable and you end up with pure 2x 5.25 slots you could install the fan controller + optical drive + 4n3, this is ...

Re: Cooler Master Cosmos II Ultra Tower Case - silent?

Yeah I have checked out the Fractal Design XL. It is currently my top choice if I would build a new system today. But it won't allow me to have more HDDs than the P180 I have now (I have a 4-in-3 bay in my P180, and in many cases I can not fit a 4-in-3 + fan controller + DVD burner). (Oh, and they ...

Cooler Master Cosmos II Ultra Tower Case - silent?

This case has been newly release and looks very good to me, with a good look and a TON of space for HDDs for example. But I am curious about the SPCR side of this case! So I would love to see any experience or user-reviews with this case, especially focused on silence and silence-modding :). Here's ...

Re: Accelero S1 Rev.2 for HD6850/HD6870/5870

There is a very cheap alternative to the VR001 kit for the 6870 keep the metal baseplate from your stock cooler, and use it to cool your RAM and VRMs. Apparently it cools significantly better than small RAM + VRM heatsinks you can add :). I am not sure if it works well on the other cards, but I know...

Epic! :) Cool to see, because over the years, my system has become something similar to yours. But less neat, haha! What's very similar is that it is a Core 2 system in an Antec P180 (vs P182), and 10 HDDs* + DVD :). And Corsair HX620W! I also used a Scythe Hard Disk Stabilizer x4 in the top area. W...

Re: MSI Twin Frozr II Heatsinks

I wonder how silent these run compared to the big 3 slot monster coolers.

Their slimness could make these interesting, because with my Accelero S1 it is simply impossible with my motherboard and case to run SLI or Crossfire! Much too big.

Does anyone have experience with these?

Interesting topic! I subscribed. It looks like you are doing a good job in your build :). And I appreciate the effort that went into the pictures. Hm, I never realized a vertical orientation would also make a difference. That is very interesting, because for me it is indeed the only horizontally mounted fan, that is making the worst noise. I also have several pretty close to a heatsource, and all of them run 24/7. I guess I am just a very dema...

It sounds like I am in a situation similar to that of Copyright. Hi, Ok so it seems that I do read too much review !! I was just worried that the bottom-oriented fan of the PSU had not enough space in the bottom to get its air. It seems that you make it work succesfully anyway. For the middle fan, I think the Off-Low-Med-High setting would depend on the required...

What are you going to use this system for? Because if it's for gaming, you will really thank yourself later if you are now able to fit a 7900GT into the budget.
