Having handled Thermalright's prototype 2.5"-to-3.5" adapter/heatsink, I am looking forward to its availability so that I may get this HD and "shove it in some corner without any airflow or conduction to the chassis".

Some might say 6 heatpipes for a 2.5" drive cooler is beyond excessive.
But does not make the cooler less desirable... :D

A Thermalright engineer at Computex 2008 told me that TR is eyeing the quiet/silent PC market and welcomes inputs (from quiet/silent PC fans).

A TR engineer at Computex 2008 told me that the HD cooler will work with other 2.5" HDs too - if they decide to actually put it into production! The cooler felt remarkably solid as I couldn't cause the fins to rattle.

A store in Taipei, Taiwan carrying and demoing Silverstone products recommended the specific cooler for GD02 when I told him the stock (Intel) cooler isn't quiet enough for me.

Re: ash2459 info please

Alan, have you got any more info on that cooler. Name, manufacturer, in fact anything that would allow further enquiry locally? BTW is it efficient when compared with the stock NB cooler? Firetech, I'm curious about the manufacturer also. As far as efficiency is concerned, I'm running the NB cooler...

Re: Forget it!

Hi all, just spent the afternoon trying to understand that Chinese forum . What I gather is that the cooler was a prototype possibly not even for mass production. Guys were trying a group buy and when price was mentioned it equated to US$122 or AU$163. Unbelievable  Not surprisingly no-one w...

While I had my system put together about a month or two ago, the Thermalright guys asked the computer store technician to confirm the compability of SI-120 and the Asus MB on my personal A8N32 because they had no idea. If my memory serves, tall memory was not an issue with the combo.
