I've just enabled C1E on my undervolted Athlon II x2 240. Power consumption of my rig dropped only 1w idle, from 30-31w to 29-30w. For the moment, no errors or strange behavior. My power consumption at idle went down from around 100W to 84W in Windows AND Linux (proprietary drivers). Phenom II 810 ...

Re: Help me choose: Enermax vs Corsair

I have owned two 550W Corsairs. One of them had a loud annoying fan. Instead of RMAing it I just did a fan swap and gave it away. It's still ticking though. The other Corsair stopped working. I called my nephew funny names because he opened it thus voiding the warranty. I just recently bought an Ene...

If there wasn't any God, then good or bad things just happened by random and always as a reaction of something what happened before. Isn't "random" incompatibile with "as a reaction of something what happened before"? You seem to have a very narrow view of religions. What worked for me was complete...

I stopped believing in a creator god a long time ago when I realized: 1. I don't like Christian/Jewish/Islamic teachings. They're inconsistent, logically flawed and point to a God with serious personality issues. 2. I realized if I went to hell when I died, well... I wouldn't be too happy. 3. I real...

(Well, except for the really big ones) I was quite happy with my Silverstone TJ08 until I decided that I wanted to upgrade and that there was no microATX motherboard that quite fit my needs/wants. Re: How safe is it to run 120mm fans on Mobo. headers

I think it's a matter of watts or amps (since Watts = Volts X Amps, and the fans are 12 V then there is a direct relationship there) and not size. Check out your manual and see if there's a maximum amperage or wattage on the fan. Like the next poster I've been running 120mm fans on mobo headers for ...

My favorites are S-Flex fans (D and E) for the following reason: they are a nearly perfect match to the CPU fan speed controller in my Gigabyte motherboards, GA-K8N51GMF-9 and now a GA-MA770-DS3. With the former motherboad and a 44.1 W Opteron 152 I was able to run the system without a CPU fan, but ...

I loved my Silverstone TJ08 case but I had to go ATX. The computer sits really close to my face so depth was an important factor in determining my replacement case. I really wanted a Lian Li but over at Newegg they all spec'ed out at 19.3" deep. Is that what yours is?

most likely both Neil and the Corsair rep are right; note the rep does not explicitly state that the fan speed is load-based, merely that it will speed up around the ~300W mark, which is indeed exactly what SPCR found when they tested the HX range. of course to really find out one must take a Corsa...

Well I did the install and If I had to do it over i would get the 1,600 rpm sleapstream..its spinning slipstream 1,200 VERY slowly. The 1,600 would move a bit more air and probably be just as silent at this low 4V. It did get rid of the stupid tic noise. The ADDA fan was garbage. I cant feel much a...
