so, part of the parts came in today. a few observations : a) the asus silencer board will likely take up an extra PCI slot. Bummer, there aren't that many of them. The screws on the back of the mount also bump on the (northbridge ? i'm a mac guy...) cooler. So yeah, it's big. b) Asus is exceptionnal...

So, the order's in with a couple of modifications : samsung hd (thanks ShadowKnight), a lower-end mobo (a8n csm), which apparently has marginally better audio out and is cooler-running. since it's not like i'm going to be overclocking it, doing SLI, or anything of the ilk, i might as well save mysel...
