Fan Installation on Thermalright Ultima 90 Qs

Just set up my Thermalright Ultima 90 Cooler on an Asus P5E MB(had to bend some fins on MB heatsink) and attached a Nexus 120 mm fan to the Heatsink. I have several questions: 1. The Nexus fan has a molex connector and what looks to be a 3 pin connector. The CPU fan connection on the MB is a four pi...

Quiet Bearing Fans

i read somewhere on this site that you need bearing fan for heat sink instead of sleeve fan. i've ordered everything for the new computer, including Thermalright Ultima 90 heatsink, except the heat sink fan. could someone tell me--do i need to worry whether fan is sleeve, or bearing or combo sleeve ...

trying to quiet this (very) noisy TJ07. Nice case though. Turns out I had several Nexus Fans laying around from my 2006 build (Athlon x4800) that I never installed. I'll use those 120 mm and 92mm, and one Scythe Slipstream 500 rpm for the Raptors in Raid. Appears the Scythe Kaze 100mm will fail to f...

Unable to find: Scythe 92mm Kaze JYU Scythe 120mm Slipstream SY1225SL12L at 800 RPM 40 CFM-- anyone? silencing a Silverstone TJ07 case (or trying). three fans--92mm rear blowing in, 120mm top exhaust, and a hardrive fan 120mm 800 rpm HD fan. Also wondering if anyone knows how much RPM or CFM I need ...

txs for the tips! nice build Cerb! based on the installation difficulties and my own meager abilities i'm shying away from the Ninja. presuming Ninja mini has same installation problems. Though I'll say that my present Scythe Katana was a very easy install and keeps the x4800 at about 38-42 degrees....

C2D E6850 System Advice?

We want to put together an office P.C. around a Core Duo E6850 that will do normal word processing in several different business programs, crunch some fairly large pdf files, internet video. No games. It's business. There is a fair amount of multiasking and we reboot about 5 times a day. We would li...

philly, im convinced, if i ever get to it, i can cut the noice at least in half. and, this will be very tolerable. i was surprised the review gave decibel readings at 30 db. id swear on the bible mine are at least 40 db. a post on another forum mentioned that modding with nexus fans all around deade...

ive had my black TJ07 for a couple of months in my office. a conversation piece, absolutely beautiful case. mine has zalman fanmate in the middle of the front panel and blue lighted silverstone vfd in the bottom slot--very understated artsy, a computer to dominate a room. my first build went flawles...

SL 12 500 Cable Length?

all the parts for my new build are here except the TJ07 which arrives monday. Originally I bought Evercase 4252 case (which sits beside me), and Seasonic SL12 500 PS. Later I opted for TJ07, and being newbie, wondering if the Seasonic cables will fit the TJ07. TJ07 has PS at bottom rear of case with...

newbie q--looking for light, quiet heat sink for 4800x cpu. Schythe Katana seems to fill this bill. BUT, katana specifications include: "Athlon 64 and Athlon 64FX(all speeds) socket 754" and "Opteron socket 939 (all speeds)". Katana specs fail to include "Athlon 64x socket 939. does this ommission o...

those are interesting cases--Lian li 1000 & 2000. qs: 1. is the MB inverted. 2. can u remove the wheels. 3. what sizes are the fans. 4. do u have an estimate of noise levels of the fans. 5. does the airflow pattern cool the case--on the lian li site this looks akin to a cyclone inside the case, lol....
