Looks like we have a new value winner, then.

EDIT: May I suggest adding the "Discuss this article in the SPCR forums." link to every page of an article, not just the last one?

If I'm reading this correctly, the Mugen-2 with two fans is the best combo you've ever tested at 12 dBa or less, bar none.

Those heat pipes don't look like aluminum to me. Perhaps they're nickel-plated copper.

Too bad they didn't plate the pipes for corrosion resistance.

Yes, AuraAllan got it right. The purpose of the tabs is to keep the spring-loaded false bay door flush against the rest of the bezel.

Shaving off the door might be what I have to do, then...

Problem with P150

My optical drive bay won't come out because the two little corner, uh, tabs at the top block the door.

What should I do? I don't want to cut the tabs...

After all, just like water it is an incompressible fluid, which means excellent vibration transfer with minimal energy loss. Water does compress to some degree, which is part of the reason we bleed our car brake pipes from time to time. Brake fluid compresses much less than water...but is hydroscop...

Heat pipes by definition have internal wicks. The ones without wicks are called thermal syphons.

aaa; if they were solid copper, heatsinks with heat pipes would perform worse than the ones without.

We finally have a viable solution as far as balancing performance and noise goes. Heck, this thing does both, at the expense of $$$.

Be damned if the silence freaks aren't pleased, though.

Opening up the Centurion 534 bezel

Owners of this case will know that the vent holes for the front intake fan are only on the lower half of the case behind the mesh. What I want to do is to put a fan in the top three 5.25" bays and have it blow through three suspended HDs. However, the flow restriction would be extremely high, so I w...

Looks like something a fool would buy. Even if I had the money, I wouldn't buy something like that because it would be practically impossible to install. Maybe if you split up the radiator into 3 parts... Not only that, you'd need to design a different model for every motherboard.

I think the powder would be a terrible idea. Unless you pack it HARD, it'll be more like thermal insulation, what with all those air gaps.

AMD's CPUs are inferior both in max performance and performance/price, if you allow overclocking... perhaps even if you don't.

If you plan to move to Vista, 2GB of memory is definitely recommended.
