nice setup. i see a Digi rack - nice system. I was thinking of going with the Digi 003 for my PC rig but I passed up on it and went it an RME and Apogee system. I have a PT HD on a Mac as well and it sound pretty darn good in comparison. Good job!

indeed. amazing setup. i was thinking of going with 3 20" for my music recording PC too but I am going to go with 2 24" widescreens instead just to save on desk real estate and use it for my MIDI piano and mixers. kudos for a really good job.

Ah, fair enough abyssinianson. Purely from what the others have said, as it has good airflow it should be ok, i'd almost be inclined to say you may require another fan (and perhaps the P180 instead) also. What is your current thinking ? Mikey, Where might I put the second fan for the best results? ...

If it's not being used for games, why a 7950GT?! Indeed, its a waste. A 7300GS has extremely low power usage and will probably fit your needs. What monitor(s) are you trying to drive ? because the rig also performs a good amount of video rendering via a Steinberg Nuendo post-production setup. I tri...

anyone have experience the XFX 7950GT in an Antec SOLO? this is my prospective case, and though I don't plan on using the PC for games (it is for music recording), I am curious to see if the case factor is going to keep my 7950GT from performing properly. I plan on having a Ninja Scythe in the case ...

Re: Question

Okay, so I got the MSI 7950gt. It's doing quite nicely, idling at 55C's and topping out at about 85C's. Hot, yes. Silent, yes. On to my question. On the heatsink, you can see (if you look closely at the pictures) on both ends these plastic "sleeves"... Now what are these for? And should I remove th...

Hi Abyssinianson I read with interest your plans to enclose the case in a box, as I have always thought that this method could potentially eradicate all the noise problems at a stroke without agonising for months over cpu/northbridge/vga/hdd cooling, case/psu fans etc etc etc. Assuming of course yo...

anyone have feedback on the Zalman VF900 for a 7600GT?

i am picking out components for a new rig and I would like to know if the Zalman VF900 is as quiet as you can get for a VGA cooler on a BFG 7600GT. are there better, more quiet choices?

my plan is this: the PC is actually going to be for a music recording PC that I need to be as quiet as I can get it because it is going to live in the control room where I might plan on doing recording as well. the PC is going to serve two purposes: music recording and music post-production work. I ...

How do you plan to ventilate your isolation box? Are you using any baffling, circuitous air routing, etc? It seems like placing a PC in a box would tend to swirl air around in the box so you'd want the box's air intake to direclty feed the intake of the PC and have the PC exhaust directly. I would ...

reviews said that the 7900GT is a quite a resource how, and runs white hot. Are you sure you're not thinking of the 7900GTX? the 7800GTX fit my budget...the 7900GT right now is just a bit too expensive. hopefully though, by the time I buy and build the items for my new PC, the cost of the 7900GT would have come down some in cost... Also, when I was doing a bit of research on GPUs, reviews said that the 7900GT is a quite a...

hey all, first time poster, long time lurker:) i have a question about the Antec P-150's dampening material versus after market sound insulation you can get from, say, AcoustiPack or dampTek. just how effective is the plastic sound dampening material on a stock P-150? my concern has a lot to do with...
