JamieG, thanks for your input. Shamgar, I imagine the ACCC booklet is much the same as the WA Consumer Protection one. The research wasn't entirely my own initiative; I heard about the booklet at work and was very pleasantly surprised by consumers' statutory rights (even if it can be problematic in ...

And to also respond to HueyCobra (thanks for your input BTW), even though ACCC and Consumer Protection in each of our states is available, they can't seem to do much, unless you really want to take the fight up to the dodgy business in question. Unfortunately that is often quite true. However, I wo...

But some of these online stores only give a 3-6 months warranty; after that, you have to RMA direct with the manufacturer. Shamgar, you may be interested in this discussion on warranties & consumer rights as per the ACCC . Ultimately, "each sale is a contract between the seller and the consumer" an...

Great work Shamgar.

Note PC Case Gear currently has a 50% off sale on its range of Panaflo/NMB fans (as reflected by the $17.50 price for the FBA12G12L - normally some $35).

PCCG are your only hope I suspect and even then... There does not appear to be any Nexus PSUs on staticICE or Shopbot. I suppose PCCG might consider it if there was sufficient interest (how many card-carrying SPCR party members are there in Australia?). Otherwise, I'm not sure whether this product ...

You missed a spot :) (Nexus website still links to NX-8060)

Anyhow, after a quick glance it appears Nexus PSUs do not make it to Australia :x

Very interesting product and thanks for the review.

Is there a reason that the Feature Highlights refer and link to the Nexus NX-8060 (600W modular PSU) rather than the Nexus Value 430 :?:

Re: Antec Phantom 500 failed...

Fans start up, hard drives spin up, optical drives start initializing. But no display. Reset... nothing. I open up the P180 side panel, look inside and all the fans are running, LEDs on but... still no computer. Then I listen closer, and I can hear a soft repetitive snapping/ticking sound coming fr...

I changed off media keyboard elite to wave corded. The button's are significatly more quiet than the media elite's. The writing is easy and feeling is very good. the wrist support feels good but gets dirty easily and is hard to clean due its artificial leather. Thanks for your additional comments, ...

I like logitech's Wave corded keyboard and the logitech Ultra Flat keyboard. Especially the Ultra Flat is nice to type as its keys remind of laptops keys as the feeling. Wave is not as weird as other ergo-keyboards but I find it better keyboard generally to type than your regular one. I have much l...

i dont see this mentioned on any website. Yeah, I haven't seen anything about the SP3 release on Tech ARP , techPowerUp! , DailyTech , DailyTech , The Tech Report , The Tech Report , The Tech Report , The Tech Report or The Tech Report for example ... :P Edit: Top of The Tech Report again.

Get an EVGA 9600gt, and you can save a few more dollars by getting an S2 instead of S1 - the S1 is overkill for the heat output from a 9600. Indeed, as seen on the S2-equipped ECS N9600GT-512MX-P in the original post. Edit: If you liked that link, you'll also enjoy this one: http://www.atomicmpc.co...

The high-pitched buzz/whine from my 14-month-old Phantom 500 has grown more noticeable, especially in the first few minutes after powering on. No issues other than that, however, and I think the fan has still never started yet.

The Tech Report concluded: If you're looking at running a single GeForce 8800 GT, the card's default 512MB memory size is easily the best. Doubling the onboard memory to 1GB may make for interesting marketing, but it doesn't improve performance a lick with the games and resolutions we tested ... Th...

Strangely, I haven't noticed this on our 2007WFP. I see you have the 3007. I haven't tested whether my monitor forgets the brightness setting when power is removed. kentc, good effort with 175 kWh between two people. I'm wondering whether I should turn off my microwave when it's not in use. How does your 30 minute timer arrangement work? We use a breaker to turn of the computers "hard", stops the vampire draw from the computer, switch, monitor, amplifier and wi...

Approximately 153.5 kWh per month (460.5 kWh averaged over eight 90-day periods) for one person in an apartment. However, the figure has spiked since replacing a 24/7 laptop with a Sempron 2800+, and after buying a Dell 3007WFP-HC (which can vampire draw as much as 12W when "off"). The most recent 9...
