that's right, whenever there's a problem with a computer I'm the first one they call. who's the freak now!?!? ;) I'm in the same situation regarding computer questions, but they still think I'm nuts for wanting a silent PC. They look at me like I have mental issues when I enthuse about quietening m...

The Revolution 5.1 sounds great listening to music and watching SageTV. As far as gaming goes, I've tried Oblivion (only for a couple minutes), and I did not notice any of the scratchy sound you refer to. When/If I get the chance to game more extensively I will post with observations. Back to the Ne...

Well, I have had the most absurd experience with my NeoHE430. The nightly buzz is permanently gone - all from adding a sound card (M-Audio Revolution 5.1). I've read plenty of times that adding load can kill buzz in certain PSUs, but as my previous posts have elaborated, my buzzing was only at night...

Hold on, before you RMA, it would interesting to find out at exactly what time the buzzing starts and stops. Could it be something to do with something else that switches on/off in your house at a certain time (ie heating)? Well, the only way I can do that is by sitting at the comp around the time ...

Well, I've checked any software I could be running only at night, and I haven't found anything. Besides, the buzzing starts as soon as I press the power button even before Windows loads. I turned on the computer this morning at 7AM and the buzz was gone, but at 11PM last night, the buzz was annoying...

I've tried switching different outlet/plug/wall socket combinations, but all efforts have proved fruitless. I'm positiv...

Luckily, I do not have a problem with the Neo HE not booting or failing. However, my problem is a strange one. I've read about these PSUs having coil buzz or scroll buzz or whatnot, but my Neo buzzes ONLY at night! I have no clue why. I'm fairly certain it is the PSU, and that it is not because the ...

Is it possible to run fanless in Antec's NSK2400?

Does anyone think it feasible to run a fanless PSU, namely the Silverstone ST30NF, in the Antec NSK2400? As most of you know, the case features a separate chamber for the PSU. My specs are as follows: DFI Infinity RS482 Motherboard AMD Opteron 165 Processor @ 2.2Ghz stock voltage Zalman 7700Cu Yate ...

Hi sputnik,
Congrats on a nice build. May I ask what kind of motherboard you have for your E6400? And if there are any decent overclocking options? I'm interested in mATX for Core 2 Duo.

At the moment, I am using a Yate-Loon modified Zalman CNPS-7700AlCu running at 5-7V off a Fanmate. The noise (or lack thereof) is quite pleasing. I would, however, like to try a 9500 (with the bending of the top fins), for that seems a better suited match for the side exhaust fans of the NSK2400. An...

I mounted the XP-120 with the heatpipes facing the front of the case at the expense of 2 DIMM slots. If I had mounted it the other way, the heatpipes would have bent a number of capacitors, which I was not too comfortable with.

Oh, sorry I didn't bother to check the XP-90 dimensions. I'm not by the computer right now, but I believe there was about an inch or so clearance, not to mention that my Panaflo is 120x38mm.

gman76,
I will be receiving my NSK2400 today as well. Also ordered from Securemart. I was a bit sad when the preliminary arrival date of 4/10 was delayed to 4/11, but hopefully, it will be a 'case' of "good things come to those that wait".

What kind of setup is everyone using in their NSK2400?

I've been anxiously waiting for this one. Could you include a note on maximum CPU heatsink height? Like from mobo to inside top of case? Jay I'm interested in the response to Jay's question as well. Modular cables seem to be the way to go for this case. I currently have a fanless XP-120 with a Seasonic S12 sucking air from the heatsink. Although temps are bearable, and the system is pretty quiet, I might want to get a modular PSU just so that I have better airflow in the system.

I use my computer mainly for browsing, word processing, and occasional games as Battlefield 2 and Warcraft III. There is probably no objective answer to this, but would it "feel" much faster to be using a 7200rpm drive? Or would the difference be negligible, thereby making the notebook drive a keepe...

S12-500 buzzing/coil whine during mouse movement?

I have a Seasonic S12-500 PSU, and it seems to work fine running my Opteron 146 at stock voltages. However, when I use CrystalCPUID to for undervolting and the multiplier management, the power supply seems to make whining or buzzing noises according to the movements of my mouse. Notebook HDD performance losses?

I have a Samsung 2.5" hard drive model HM080II, and it is pretty darned quiet. However, I was wondering if I would feel any real world performance gains if I were to use a regular 3.5" hard drive, say a Seagate 7200.9 160GB, instead.
