DigitalDoc5+ and varying fan voltage
Hello! I recently acquired a used Antec P182 case to migrate my computer hardware into. Once the whole thing's put together, I'll have 5 120mm fans (four case fans and one CPU fan). I would like to integrate a fan controller into my setup. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm thinking that the be...

Replacing my P180 with... another P180?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a dillema. I purchased my P180 back in November of 2005 and well, its been a love/hate relationship. My P180 has suited me well aside for a few nusiances: cable management, original door was warped but replaced, and [recently] warped/separating case panels. My motherboa...

Juventas, That is exactly where I read about it. Problem is I need to control quite a few fans with it. I was thinking about putting 2 80 mm fans on 1 circuit, 2 80 mm fans on a second circuit, a 120 mm fan on its own circuit, and a 60 mm fan on the 4th circuit. According to the sticker on the fan (...

Reliability
Hey Mike81,
How has your Scythe Kama Meter been working for you? I'd like to get one but alot of reviewers had poor experiences.

Zalman CNPS7000 Issue
It seems that according to some websites early Zalman coolers had mounting clips that loses tension over time. Did this problem occur with the CNPS7000 also? I currently have a CNPS7000 ALCU on my Athlon XP and temperatures got as high as 50 degrees idling (when it used to idle at 35 with a max fan ...

Anton, judging by the location of your cpu, it seems unlikely a CNPS7000 will fit. I have a Soyo KT880 Dragon2 and with a zalman CNPS7000 installed, its only about 10 mm away from the top mounted 120 mm fan. Although if you decide to remove the top fan then it might fit, since you have an added 25 m...

Re: Want to silence/cool Slot 1 PIII 800Mhz
Photo's and instructions on removing original HS please :) This is the guide I used http://www.thetechzone.com/articles/p3_heatsink_remove2.shtml Works nicely, but make sure you don't do it on a table that you want to leave screw dimpling marks on, or at least use a notebook to protect the table.

Cool... I've tried to find that cooler on ebay to no avail. However, it seems that getting a coppermine cpu will also be a good route considering they put out less heat than the earlier Katmai 550. As for the Iceberq cooler, I'll admit its audible, but to a much more tolerable level than the stock P...

Re: Athlon X2 3800 "Cool 'n' silent" Project
If I remember correctly, the fan may be "permanently" attached to the slot 1 housing. I remember people posting about drilling out the screws so that they can attach a 3rd party heatsink. You may have to live the loud slot 1 CPU unless you are willing to do some heavy modification to it and be able...

PIII 550 with a VGA cooler?
While on the search for a silent cooler for the PIII, I thought about something. A P3's cpu die is about the same size as one for a modern video card. However, I don't know if a modern video card is hotter than a P3. If it is, then that means a modern video card cooler can be adapted to use on a P3 ...

Thanks for the advice! The P!!! will probably be relocated to my vacant Antec SLK2600. It only has a 80 mm exhaust fan and 80 mm intake fan. The reason why I wondered if passive cooling is enough with the Gigabyte board is because the cpu isn't in the upper corner like most. http://www.pcgatecompute...

Athlon X2 3800 "Cool 'n' silent" Project
Hello everyone, my name is jason and this is my first post on this board. I've got a couple questions that i'll like to keep to one post. This coming saturday I'll be building 2 AMD X2 3800 systems (one's mine, one for a friend). Although both systems will have a Gigabyte K8U-939 motherboard ...
