Well, there will be top hole which will have larger diameter than tubing (decoupling) so the heat can escape there, i hope.
But now i read that D5 is noisier compared to Eheim HPPS and MPC350. So i'm leaning towards HPPS (expensive thou).

How hot does D5 get if completely closed into a box of say MDF. My whole case will be made of MDF so i thought of making a small box out MDF for the pump and suspending it there, but obviously the pump will get no airflow. The little box is to block any noise that might be coming even from suspended...

i have NEC3550 DVDRW and its VERY quiet.
Compared to my Lite-On 52CDRW (which is like a turbine) it's inaudible at all.
