Thank you ever so much NoDamage this was exactly what I was looking for! :D I have now ordered a Sapphire X1900XTX + Arctic Cooling Accelero X2 for $753.64 + $29.28 + shipping = $782.92 + shipping. I had a look at Sapphire's Blizzard version, but it wouldn't come in stock till June and judging by th...

do note that my readings were taken with the dBA next to the case, the side panel closed -- I had to put my ear next to the case in order to make out the fan speed difference on the X1 between 100% and 25%. With the Z900 I could more clearly hear the difference in fan speeds (12v vs 5v) Do you mean...

I don't really like the idea of TEC and pelts, but I thought it war really interesting with those passive rads here . However, I'm aiming for all copper solution (maybe some brass too), so adding Alu to the mix would lead to galvanic corrosion. :( Are there no good or even better copper radiators (a...

Interesting, since you can use the Accelero X2 in conjunction with ATI's dynamic fan controller, I think it may be the better option here. Thank you ever so much! :D

I have the exact same problem, but with my XFX 7800GTX 256 XXX. My NV Silencer 5 Rev. 3 spins at 100% all the time. Even when idle. It's one of the noisiest (maybe the noisiest) component(s) in my PC. I hate, hate, hate it!! Getting replaced ASAP (see my other thread).

I don't have an X1900XTX to try it on, but I think you're pushing your luck trying to cool it quietly with a V1Ultra. I have one on my X850XT PE. The GPU gets up to ~70C with a Nexus 80mm at 7volts where it's quiet. If the numbers above are correct, you'd be almost doubling the watts. 850 = ~70 wat...

What is quieter at same performance (as silent as possible, without GPU overheating).

VF900-Cu or Accelero X2 or V-1 Ultra?

What a let down. It seems this modular series will indeed be noisier.

Wonder if an S12-700 will be released along with it then?

Probably true, my hope is it'll be even more efficient than the S12-600.

So, what is the difference between SS and S12 series?

I think the new revision (AX I think it's called, revision 3 anyhow) of the Seasonic S12 should work with DFI boards. Not 100% though.

New revision can be bought here

Got a U2-UFO on the way to me, decided I wanted something chunky to hold all my watercooling gear. ;) Not sure on the quietness front, it's a pretty open case which tends to mean noise gets out, but with quiet fans and such you could keep it fairly quiet I think. HDD noise is likely to be an issue ...

Cool, but I'm not convinced a Zalman Reserator will be able to handle an overclock FX-60 + High-End SLI or Cross-Fire. Would have loved it if it did. I think I'll have to get normal rads, not sure what though (if going P180). If going MountainMods U2-UFO I'm definitely going for the ThermoChill PA12...

P180 how quiet is HDD mounting? Will it kill vibrations?

I have 7 HDDs, so I'd want an insulated case without vibrations. How good (silent) is HDD mounting in P180? Is it as good as soft elastic suspension?

Other questions about P180:
Will it be able to host 7900GTX SLI?
How is it for water-cooling? (link to other thread)

Thanks ~ Kris

I'm not sure the Sytrin VF1 is available in Sweden, but I've never heard of it before so I can't really say I know for sure.

Accelero X2 vs V1 Ultra vs VF900-Cu for silencing X1900XTX?

1. What would be the better option for running an X1900XTX as quiet as possible? a) Arctic-Cooling Accelero X2 , claimed to be 0.4 Sone (how many dBA?) b) Thermalright V1 Ultra with a Nexus 80mm, Acoustifan 80mm or otherwise silent fan to be determined and perhaps a fan controller? c) Zalman VF900-...

Ok Mike, so you recommend Scythe over Nexus but 1200 rpm w/ fan controller? Is the 1200rpm and 800rpm versions the same fan (ie same noise and flow with same rpm)?

What about the other acousti mounting equipment? Something you think I should look into?

Nexus Real Silent vs Scythe S-FLEX - what is more quiet?

Hey everyone! First post, but I guess my story is quite short. After having owned a PC Power & Cooling 850 SSI I have now become allergic to noise. Right now my gaming rig (see sig) is unbearably noisy. Trying to fix this one step at a time. This time it's Case Fans + CPU Fan. As for case fans, I'm ...
