Hi, I got the akimbo cooler also, for my eVga 8800GT. When you look on the back of the card you'll see alot of screws, simply loosen and remove and retain all the screws. Also take off the two black screws from the metal bracket on the end of the card If a sticker is in the way, you should be able ...

Do NOT connect it to a fan controller, the black and red wires and reversed. You'll kill your fan if you connect it to a fan controller like I did.

What's your ambient temp? Are you sure you mounted the CPU cooler on right, can you try to remount it? It's usually 28/29 Celsius ambient here and my CPU load temp is 40 Celsius.

ATi Silencer 5 Fan Broken?

OK, so the fan made this really annoying clicking sound when I set it to below 100%. I read that this was caused by the fan controller on the video card (X800GTO2), so I managed to get it plugged into the fan header on my motherboard after bending one of the pins. After I started my computer, the fa...

If you want your video card to fit in the first PCI-E slot, then you'll have to have a chipset cooler that's as low profile as the stock one. I have an Evercool VC-RE on it that's the same height as the stock chipset cooler and I have a X800GTO2 with an ATi Silencer that fits perfectly over it.

All the Opterons have 1MB cache so you don't have to get a 3700+ just to get 1MB cache, and it also overclocks better than Athlon 64's.
