My WDC 2500KS is according to the sensor also pretty hot. It is cooled by an Antec TriCool at low which is right in front of the disk and creates a pretty decent airflow. According to the sensor it is 42C - my other disk (older IBM 180 Gb) is ten degrees cooler: 32C. If I touch the disks they are (a...

I have question for those who have built a system using the P150. Do you use only one 92mm fan mount or both? I'm curious as to which configuration would be better. I don't need absolute silence and would like to keep the hard drives as cool as possible without making too much noise. I'm going to g...

And, are you serious that your AMD retail fan is LOUD with Cool 'n Quiet + Q-fan? Mine is almost dead silent at 1200 RPM. Are you sure Q-fan is working? You can also force it to work at a lower speed by raising the Q-fan target temperature in the BIOS. Yes mine was loud but I must admit that I've s...

I think the 250ks is very loud, and makes that ennoying wine sound. Thanks I also have a WDC2500KS mounted in the HDD suspension cables in the Antec P150. Mine is very quiet in this setup. I have a 2,5" 5400 rpm WDC in a USB 2 case, which is way louder. Even the 2,5" Hitachi 4200 rpm in my HP lapto...

Nice system! :) Regarding the Asus A8N5X, I've used a Zalman Fanmate to lower the chipset fan to about 50% of the initial speed, and this has made it much more silent. I can still hear a very faint whine if I open the case, so I've thought of replacing the fan with a Zalman passive chipset cooler. Y...

I know.. that damn floppy is one ugly mofo.. i'm actually thinking of getting rid of it altogether. I'm not sure I want to buy a can of white vinyl dye just for the floppy.. what are the chances I'll use it again? I actually thought GebissetDK's setup looks pretty hot :) I want that silver lamp! I ...
