Re: Seasonic G360W gold for $60 - Review & Giveaway!

I love how not only is higher efficiency getting cheaper, but Seasonic is not forgetting about users who don't need hugely overpowered PSUs. I've also noticed that they are making 80Plus Gold TFX PSUs. Hopefully they target SFX sized PSUs next for the "Gold" treatment, as well as higher wattage. Sil...

Re: Seasonic SS-350TGM 80 Plus Gold TFX

Nice to see such a PSU being made, and looking forward to SFX versions. Maybe even higher wattage versions. C'mon Seasonic, give FSP some competition in that space!

BTW a lot of the Foxconn mini ITX cases (often sold as a barebones with motherboard) also use TFX PSUs.

Re: Intel Core i3-2100T & Core i5-2400S Low Power CPUs

The page 1 comparison chart is wrong. It lists the Core i5 2500 and 2500K as having 8MB cache, when it has only 6MB.

Re: Corsair CX400 vs Corsair CX430, CX500, CX600

Seen plenty of appalling reviews. It is very unfortunate that Corsair named the Builder Series CX. That aside, basically it is intended to be a cheaper alternative that will do as the label says and won't fail due to load. That can't be said about all cheap PSUs. See reviews of Diablotek, Apevia, e...

Re: Zotac IONITX-P-E CULV Motherboard

Nice board, but the price does seem a bit steep compared to an H55 ITX with G9650. If it were 2/3 the price I'd be ordering one from Amazon right now, just to play with. :D I'd love to see some overclocking results. Seems like Atom and CULV (in the Asus UL notebooks) can be overclocked a reasonable ...

Re: Consumer SSD Battle: WD vs. OCZ vs. Intel

A Windows 7 image loaded with our test suite was cloned to drive What cloning software was used? Did you verify the SSD was properly aligned after the cloning? i'm surprised the kingston fared so well since it uses a 'inferior' jmicron controller, i guess they've sorted out the old problems. i beli...

Is it just me, or did anyone else think of VIA C3 processors when seeing "Samuel?" I might still have one of those hidden among the few Ezra C3 processors sitting in my garage. Those were my first attempts (waaaayyy BITD) at quiet computing.

cordis, I got the board and can confirm that it is overclockable in BIOS, with these available settings:

CPU frequency: 166MHz default, range 100-1200 (!!! WTF like it will work anywhere near that)

CPU Vcore 1.156MHz default, range 0.818v-1.331v

DRAM voltage 1.800v default, up to 2.100v

I was looking forward to a review on this case. I like the idea of a small cheap NAS case that can take a bunch of drives. Guess I'll still be looking for the "cheap" part as this may be around $200 (if NCIX gets it), the Chenbro 4-bay costs even more and even the Lian Li PC-Q08 costs around $130 an...

So, this Gigabyte D510 board allows over/under clocking/volting in BIOS?

It's $5 off and free shipping right now ($90 shipped). I think I might snag one! Might be fun to play with, and then with the 4x SATA ports can replace my micro ATX server after I'm tired of fiddling with it.

There are few reviews of Solo and a performance gpu, even fewer with both 92 mm fans in use. Would Solo really perform so bad with a highend gpu? After all, it has really good airflow with so few fans. I've done two Solo builds with 92mm fans. Works as expected. The problem with the Solo is that it...

Questions: Any word on if/when/pricing for USA distribution? Also, what about their Mini ITX chassis? I've actually liked some of the basic design premises of this chassis since I first saw it a couple months ago, especially the "few optical, many HDD" drive bays. IMO for those who need more than 3-...

I think the reviewer missed a "Pro" of the case. The depth. My biggest beef with HTPC cases have always been the depth. Height? No problem. My receiver is taller. Depth? I had a nice open rack that I used to use and my HTPC stuck out of it because that was as far back as it would go. This case is le...

You can use GSpot Codec Information Appliance to compare the details of the media files that played versus the ones that did not play.

Also, are you sure you want to be mentioning torrented versions of videos?

I have a thought on the size of the heatsink itself. See that the two sides look "staggered" from each other? I'm thinking that the heatsink fins might have the same surface area as the original Big Typhoon, just pulled apart (like the San Andreas fault) to make it hold a slightly bigger fan. Perhap...

Overstock.com has the unit for sale at US$40 . It doesn't appear all that hard to find in the US, at least. Buy.com has it for $40.25 with free shipping. 17A available for +12v means it can power just about any video card that doesn't require additional power. It really should have SATA connectors ...
