Correct on both counts.
Can I attach the cabinet exhaust fan to the PWM SYS_FAN2 header
That's what it's for :) Unless you have some other fan controller, that's probably the best place for your exhaust. [/quote]

The main reason the copper version is not available, as I recall, is that there was no real performance increase for the increased cost. For a recent example, check out FrostyTech's recent side-by-side Falcon92 reviews- the aluminum model is neck and neck with the copper, and probably costs signific...

If they include the proper cabling, you could run 6 or 7 SPCR computers from one of these. Think of that... one PSU fan for 5 machines! This is a great day for silencing!

A 1000 RPM fan? This is suddenly a lot more interesting. All the press release said was that the fan would "aggressively cool the processor," which didn't strike me as newsworthy! If any positive reviews come out, I'll definitely post a news story, but at this point it still doesn't seem very... new...

It's not a bad idea, the problem is that fridges aren't as good as you think. A fridge, especially a little dorm-room bar fridge, is designed to take a couple of cubic feet of air at 25 degrees, and cool it to 5 degrees-ish. It's not designed to deal with the heat put out by a computer, which is on ...

I think what Mathias intended goes like this (and this seems logical to me): If you want to compete with Dell and Wal-Mart and so-on, with a proper business and prebuilt systems and so on, you'll have to get a license from Microsoft to resell Windows, which will get you discounts. If you just plan o...

The chips are identical, as you said, except for one thing: their default voltages are different. the ADA is the base model, the ADO is usually referred to as "Energy Efficient" and the ADD is the "Energy Efficient HTPC" model. That (well, and the price premium) is the only variable. The heatsink yo...

I don't know for sure why such a thing hasn't been attempted, but I'd guess it's because manufacturers are afraid of the possible consequences.

I have never come across a retail, watercooled PSU, nor have I heard of one in the works.

Correct. AM2 has 940 pins, but "Socket 940" actually refers to the socket released with the Athlon64 line at launch, which was intended for use with servers. S940 CPUs use AMD's old 2-screw heatsink retention, whereas AM2 uses the new 4-screw method, so heatsinks that fit S940 aren't necessarily AM2...

I can see one loophole that manufacturers might use to get an Energy Star rating without necessarily doing very much for energy efficiency; to a large extent the "Dual-Core Systems with 1GB RAM" and "Gaming/Heavy Multimedia Systems" categories overlap and manufacturers are bound to plump for Cat C ...

There are a couple of things you can do here. If you're hardcore, you could always watercool your PSU along with the rest of your gear... but that's rather a lot of effort and voided warranties. The easiest thing to do would probably be to use a duct to get cool air to a fanned PSU. That's sort of w...

New passive northbridge cooler

This isn't CPU cooling per se, but I don't know where else this would go.

I came across a new NB cooler- entirely passive, copper construction, heatpipes, the whole 9 yards. No availability outside China and Japan, as far as I can tell. Looks promising, if you've got the space.

Could be good news for the low end, if it's true.
