Any further word on the MCE ability of the IR receiver? Does the Windows Media Center edition software react to it exactly as it does to the MCE IR receiver, or do you get some loss of functionality?

Thanks for any help - you guys seem to have the inside track on Antec!

VFDs tend to go for £50+, as far as I can see. Plus the Aluminium front, plus the CD door, plus the volume control - I can see how it reaches the price it's at. Compared to some of the HTPC cases around it's cheap, and the only reason I'm not going with it is that the NSK1300 meets my needs for hal...

If they have improved its cooling I'd be very interested; from the scematic it appears that the hole where the card reader used to be is still there in the internals, so punching a hole in the case for a VFD/Internal IR receiver would seem a possibility.

Had an email from the people at Antec - apparently the Fusion will have some space by the VFD for an internal IR receiver which can use the VFD window to see the outside world.

That's interesting - thanks! So perhaps the Fusion might be an option, if IR can make it through the VFD...

Either hack a hole or put the reciver in a 5.25" spot or use an external reciver I really want to use the MCE receiver, for various reasons (easy software integration, cheap, I like the remote, the remote has a TV off button so one remote can do everything). So the iMon is out. Definitely want an i...

I forgot to mention - the ability to take a full height PCI-E card is a must, so that I can upgrade to a card that has more HD abilities (and perhaps treat it as a games console, too).

HTPC Case

I'm sure someone brings this up regularly, but surprisingly I can't find much mention of my requirement - an internal IR receiver. I'm building a cheap HTPC client - so it doesn't need much storage or a tuner card, that'll all be done on the server. Specs: MSI K8NGM2-FID - seems the best GeForce 615...
