I had it hard mounted using rubber grommets but I know about the heavy vibrations. It's kind of hard to suspend in the Aria so, I still haven't figured that one yet. :) I did remove the drive from inside the case and held it in my hands during drive seeks to see if that helps and it does just a bit,...

WD5000KS w/ AAM Still Audible: Suggestions?

I'm hearing a lot of good things about these drives but for some reason I can't but help think the seeks should be a lot softer than how they are now. I can't tell the large difference between my old Seagate and the new WD. AAM will enable just fine, if anything, I have to listen very carefully to h...

I just bought an OEM WD5000KS off of eBay and enabled AAM (128) on the drive but I can still hear the seeks. I honestly thought it was going to be a huge difference from my Seagate but I'm very disappointed. I know with AAM, the seeks should be quieter. I also have an Asus motherboard. Does anyone t...

Oh, I see what you're saying.

So just to confirm, the female adapter with the 2 wires will power PSU #2 when PSU #1 is running or when the computer is turned on?

I believe the adapter connects two PSU's in parallel mode. I've only worked with car audio so I have a basic understanding using speakers with impedances and acoustical output volume in parallel. Could someone confirm this via the following link? http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main...

Daisy Chain 2 PSUs: Safe?

Is it safe to daisy chain 2 power supplies together? Are there any draw backs? Things to keep in mind? I came across an old thread titled, Can I use 2 pico-psu's together to power my HTPC? I want to get rid of my PSU but I don't think using one PW-200-M is enough. My estimates tell me I'd be pushin...

Yeah, you won't be able to improve cooling unless you do some modding to it. You should be able to cut the front side internal metal frame and add 1 or 2 80mm fans. You wouldn't have to cut the plastic bezel but you'd have to take into consideration all air would be coming through the two narrow ver...

I've got a scorcher in an Aria; Pentium D 820. Temperatures are great but I had to make modifications to improve the air flow.

I found the Raptor hard mounted in my brother's cheap flimsy aluminum standard computer case to be louder than my Seagate hard drive. That being said, I can describe the seeks more muffled compared to mine. My hard drive's seeks are quite sharp. I didn't mind the seek noise from the Raptor though. T...

If I remember correctly, the stock PSU fan had a strange connector plus a cable feeding from the fan to a spot on the wafer board. I severed the wires from the current setup, installed my own fan, ran the wiring thru with the other multitudes of wires, and powered it to 5V outside the PSU enclosure....

PD820 in an Antec NSK1300 (Aria)

I got bit with the SFF craze. I like 'em a lot. I like the fact that they were more "portable" then your standard ATX case. I also wanted a dual-core processor at the time because I would be doing work in Illustrator and Photoshop, so I got a PD820 (don't laugh :P). Computer Specs Pentium D 820 2.8G...

I've heard of this online supplier a few times in the forums and decided to place an order last night for some polyurethane foam. I did something similar but I'm running two 3-pin fans off one motherboard header since speedfan only worked on 1 of the 2 headers available. I probably wouldn't go with the NSK1300 because cooling isn't very effecient in this case. I've got the NSK1300 with a pentium D but I had to make a few modifications to help with the airflow.
