any company that truly wants to be green should adopt the slogan "buy LESS of our crap".... but of course, that's a terrible business model... so instead they market so called green products that are just part of our throw-away economy and don't really do anything to help... instead of buying natura...

I found out by accident actually, but smart driving is very low stress driving. You feel like you got there quicker because you're less tired and wound up. This is why drivers that mature (no longer drive like teenagers) all gravitate towards smart driving, only the young, the stubborn, and the one...

the worst is when kids use crummy earphones that aren't rated for that kind of power input... so all they end up hearing (along with everyone else around them) is pure distortion... if you're going to destroy your hearing and annoy everyone else around you, at least get decent earphones/headphones t...

Well I'd need to be convinced that a native English-speaking person is at any dis-advantage if he only speaks the one language. Unless you have frequent dealings with a non-English country or person.....what's the big deal? Learning/speaking English is an advantage for everyone, since it seems to b...

I suppose that's the main reason many (most?) native English-speakers are relatively poor at foreign languages - there's not so much incentive to learn (or at least retain) them when English has become a sort of de facto lingua franca (pardon my Latin). yeah... it's really quite sad that the world ...

Re: Song ID service
Does anyone know of any online services where say you can upload a short mp3 clip of a song that you want ID'd then it will analyze the clip and return the song name or at least a list of possible hits? I'm surprised nothing like this has become mainstream yet. The best resource so far is posting t...

The fact that in a midwestern city of 3/4 of a million people, you can live your life and never speak a word of English astounds me and upsets me. I'm glad I took Spanish in school, and I hope my kids do as well, but not to help out someone who lives permanently in a place and is unwilling to speak...
