Water Cooled Power Supplies!!!

Hi, I'm selling the custom water cooled PSU's from my RainMaker rig as featured in Million-Dollar-PC . These PSU's started life as Alphacool/SilentMaxx units with blue covers and aluminum blocks with bizarre fittings. I modified them as follows: - Nickel plated covers - Nickel plated Alphacool coppe...

Re: thanks heaps

thanks for replying, I'm surprised there aren't more hard core modifiers out there using this power supply as well. Does anyone know what the SLI conversion here involves? http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=20553 I'm assuming the cut and recrimp one ...

I have one of the Alphacool SilentMaxx 500W units in my water cooling loop. Here's what I can tell you... - The PSU is based on the SilentMaxx fanless 500W PSU. You may be able to find reviews on that. I could not. - It is German and is rated for 80%+ efficiency - The alphacool version I has standar...

That's sweet alright... what model is that? I'm actually going with all black (purchased a black face plate replacement for the Aquaero). It's the Pioneer DVR-A09XLC, there is also a DVR-A09XLA and they come in black :) Bad thing is that they are kinda expensive. Unfortunately, they don't appear to...

A couple of questions/comments. Given that the DDC Plus consumes 18w, I'm wondering, how many watts can each fan channel of the Aquaero handle? Have you heard/considered mcubed's bigNG? Also if you are aiming for silence, you might need to change that 18w to a 10w DDC, unless you do some miracle is...

Hi, I've been working on a water cooled rig for the last couple of months with one of my priorities to improve silence (although that's not the only reason). I thought I would share my experience in the form of a blog.... The blog can be found here... http://virtualrain.blogspot.com/ My project is a...

The Liang DDC is widely consdidered in water cooling circles to be the quietest, most powerful, lowest heat dump pump available. It is available in a 10W version or 18W version. The lower power version is obviously quieter. Get the Alphacool version with plexi top and use the top inlet for uber perf...

I've been running mine for a year in the bottom of a P180 with a Nexus midfan at 5V (550 RPM). This keeps the disks fairly cool (<40*C) and the power supply cool enough that its fan never turns on. The Phantom's fan only comes on if the top heat sink gets over 52*C. I gather your system doesn't see...

Comments from owners of the Antec Phantom 500W?

Hi, for those of you with Antec Phantom 500W, can you comment on how well it's working for you in terms of staying silent. Also, what kinds of conditions are you running it under (case, other ventilation, loads, ambient temps, etc.).

Thanks!

What PSU do you guys use?

What PSU do you guys use in your WC rig? Why did you pick the PSU you did? Did it have anything to do with WaterCooling and/or silence?

Thanks.

1/2" Fittings... which type are best?

Hi, I'm going with 1/2" fittings on my rig but 7/16" tubing. In general, are push on fittings better (I'm sure that's not an option in my case with odd size tubing), barbs (like on the swifttech blocks), or something else? What about clamps. I would rather be safe than sorry even though the 7/16" ov...

140mm fan experience and where to buy?

Hi, I'm moving to a Cooler Master Stacker 830 case which supports 140mm fans. I've done a bit of research that I'll share but if anyone has anything to add, please let me know. There are three companies that appear to make 140mm fans: 1. Aerocool: ( http://www.aerocool.us/p-accessory/strameliner/str...

I'm really not buying the safety argument... There are tons of people who watercool a Lian-Li or other case where the PSU sits in the bottom of the case... this has to be just as dangerous if not more so than this watercooled PSU where the water block isn't even inside the PSU but joined to the heat...

I don´t really see the point in a watercooled PSU, a good passive PSU will work just as good and not dump heat in the loop. You have to have a case fan anyway on a regular system, a passive psu stays nice and cool even with a 500rpm 120mm fan exhausting air under the PSU. Someone who has actually ...

I'm curious why it wouldn't have been reviewed on this site? Although expensive, you probably can't beat the performance and noise.
