Initially I went with the 500GB GreenPower disk, but found it was too noisy in my mediacenter. So I swapped it for a 80GB Samsung 2.5" and put it inside a 3.5" Scythe quiet drive. Which also made mounting it a lot easier. It's now nearly silent (sensitive ears..) in open air, but I can't discern it ...

Since I was so relieved to find this thread when I first heard my HX520 I just have to reply after 'solving' my issues. I've now had a total of 3 HX520s (all rev. B2W) that squealed. Hello everyone, I'm having the same dilemma; WD Caviar 320 or 500 GB or Samsung 401LJ. Judging solely by the soundrecordings, the caviar seeks are much more like purring while the Samsung (seeks) remind me of an old (noisy) Seagate I'm now using because of a soon-to-fail Maxline III. Was planning on...

Excuse the bumpage. I was also looking into a pre-cut kit and received the following reply: Thank you for contacting Acousti Products with your enquiry into the availability of a pre-cut kit for the Antec P180 case. Unfortunately we will not be developing a pre-cut kit for this particular case - if ...
