nafets, you are wrong - ninja instructions have nothing to hr-01 plus. its very simple why - when you secure brackets from front of motherboard, and secure heatsink there IS NO WAY that brackets will touch mobo. o-rings are only to secure pillars in backplate and pillars are long enough to be above ...

v-sync will help in several cases but not in all for example Guild Wars still produce whine even with v-sync on (from the game or the directX overrider) and so on.

i have 8800GTS rev2 by BFG in pretty silent box (2x120 fander at 720rpm, corsair 620W below half load). for 2D i use 40% 546rpm, which makes card fan equal in terms of noise with other fans in case, and gives 61-62C of gpu. at 3D i use 52% 821rpm (at 3D mode there is auto fan control in 40-52% duty)...

i have wd5000aaks and im very statisfied with it. problem is that in Poland is impossible to get it now, so possibly in near future i will get wd7500aaks. for now i have drive softmounted in solo and i cant hear it at day, but at night when disk is on heavy duty, there are nearly audible seeks.

mate, if You dont want to buy system NOW forget such speculation - it have no sense. in 5 months we will have end of the year - new cpus from intel, new gpu from nvidia and for sure price drops. especially when we talk about cpu, gpu, memory, mobo, display, psu or hdd - we know what is good now, but...

Yes. 2x WD5000AAKS would cost 240$ compared to a 399$. Which means you could get one extra drive for the same price. I'd probably still go for a single drive for the extra performance, lower noise and power consumption and the practicality. depens. for me with my solo, where i can soft mount 3 hdds...

why anyone didnt point that 1TB in single hdd solution is expensive? new hitachi monster cost $449 (new egg), when for $480 you can have 4x WD5000AAKS. this wd drive is pretty silent, with softmount its almost unaudible in my setup (i cant turn AAM yet, hitachi tool doesnt recognize my SATA controll...

Fander FX120 is not the same as Zalman ZM-F3: 700-1400rpm vs 900-1800rpm. or maybe i dont follow 'the same as' definition;-)

not bad results. but price still (300e here) too much for me. 8600ultra with 200e price tag will be the best option for me, next month we will see how its performs, and what exaclly it will offer.
