Maybe this will help: I had all kinds of space on the Intel 975XBX (Bad Axe 1) with the SI, not XP, 120. http://img226.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... 120aq4.jpg
The XP might get too close.

There are too many questions as to what efficiency protocols could be used. Or indeed what lifecycle costs really are: leave your PC on 24/7 and waste energy? Turn it off and replace failed components after a power cycle? Or is it visa versa? Which has the lower environmental impact? There is no agr...

I test fitted my drives in the flex mounts. The material is "bungee cord" like, slippery. The drives slid around too much: I screwed them in. Western Digital 320's. When they're seeking hard it sounds like a mouse scratching way down the hall . I can live with it...

I'm using the 120mm version of this fan on my Intel system. I've read in your motherboards manual that it has the AMD Cool and Quiet feature. Have you enabled this? It may be needed, Just a guess. Mobo page with link to manual: http://www.asrock.com/product/939Dual-VSTA.htm

Case Fans Fighting PSU Fans? Standard LLTT protocol

Using the Losing Lottery Ticket Test, (fold one in half, let it spring it open to a right angle, place it on top of the case, and secure it so one half of it obstructs your PSUs exhaust grill) set your rear ATX case fan to blow harder. (Antec TriCools to high!). In my Solo, the Ticket will flatten o...

monkeh: May I ask what case and PSU you have? I like the logic of a big heatsink, and a fan blowing heat out of the case. I was concerned that the voltage regulators on the 975XBX needed more cooling, and used a ThermalRight SI-120. http://img226.imageshack.us/my.php?image=badaxe6600si120aq4.jpg blo...

The fan runs 675 rpm as controlled by the motherboard/Intel Desktop Control Center. With the case open I can't hear it, but I do have the Tri Cool 120,set to low, and the Zalman PSU fan right there too. With the cover on I can't hear it below about 1100 rpm, it's loud when it maxs out at 2000rpm. It...

975XBX, Core2 Duo 6600, ThermalRight Si-120, JMC 120 PWM Fan

If anybody else is interested in this combo: it all went together well. I'm testing and will post the results, but since I had to wait for the motherboard, and the LGA775 adapter for the SI-120, I'm guessing this may be a popular setup. Just an idea of the fit: http://img226.imageshack.us/my.php?ima...

If you like the 150, but can accept black, no PSU, and no stealth drive bays, the Antec Solo is the same case.

The price on that memory is about $100 less than I just paid :-(
