Fortron Zen 400W PSU

It is this product: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104035 There are a few small scratches on the paint from mounting and unmounting but otherwise it looks like the newegg photos. This was used in a boring office machine for a few years, largely at idle, and adequately cooled (the cas...

With al the quality issues mentioned here concerning Asus boards I have been looking at some Intel boards. I found this Intel DP43TF (P43) board, with the ATX power connector in the right place and no unnecessary crap features. You have no software features like EPU6 or the gigabyte thing, and yes ...

(btw, the door hinge does swing all the way back. if you wiggle it a bit, you can free the first hinge up and rotate the second joint. it looks to be identical to the p182 after all..)

Gee, what a mess. So, to sum up, only the CPU fan can be assuredly controlled in the BIOS? And, a PWM fan in the sys_fan2 slot won't even work unless SpeedFan is used? That is sheer madness. I was really leaning towards a P35 Gigabyte board of some sort due to all the rave reviews. total digression...

well, good luck with that. i have no idea whether it will boot (although i suspect since asus lead the power-on delay charge there's a good chance you'll have the same issues i did on my ds3l), but in retrospect it's clear that the pico is the better solution. at this point the only reason to go wit...

the PW-200-V is not ATX v2 compliant and hence will not boot on many modern desktop boards. it is also a major pita to connect it to a y2515 (especially when you subsequently discover that it will not boot your modern desktop board :/) the price premium is maybe 2x, by the way, but since nothing els...

i've recently found myself with a copy of the WHS based mediasmart (basically a 2x height mediavault with a flexatx psu), and it is not quiet, period. i expect the mediavault is similar. OTOH, it's tiny, and low power and can be shoved pretty much anywhere. i have mine in the cabinet of a tv stand i...

mine was a v1.1 as well, btw. sweet deal! although, as a meta-note, i'm not sure why antec continues to make and sell the two models, as the only difference seems to be the front door hinge. note #2: my side panels seem to have a lot of give/flex. i find it hard to believe that they could be defecti...

i've had no problems so far with the s1 rev 2 mem heatsinks. i suspect the TIM is 3m's phase change (?) double sided tape: clean the IC surfaces extremely well (i used proper contact cleaner as solvent, then eraser nub then solvent again) and it will stick fine (the sinks are quite light).

Re: On the Bleeding Edge

I got an Intel DG965WH motherboard and a 6300 Core 2 Duo chip - the internal PATA DVD drive doesn't recognize data or audio CDs at all now. Please comment on Conroe sg01 build with a twist

I realize this may not be the greatest or sanest proposal ever, so I'm open to any and all advice/comments. What I've come up with is: Case: Silverstone SG01 (148$) PSU: Cover the rear PSU opening with an 80mm fan mount and mini-box PW-200-V DC/DC (as shown here: http://www.atechfabrication.com/prod...
