Ninja cooling/mounting problem??
Hi all, I have a problem with my newly installed Scythe Ninja Rev. B, it seems. The temps of my Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 (stock speed) with the case open are around 44-45C idle, 69-72C load. The load temp rises to around 80C when the case is closed. I am using Intel's TAT application for temperature m...

Cool, thanks for the input :) I hadn't thought about the difference made by the number of platters - it could very well mean a lot. I've tried fiddling with the cables and varying the tension on the mounting screws, but it didn't really seem to make a difference. I might order a new HD501LJ and see ...

Sample variance?
I've bought two Samsung drives recently for a new quiet system - a HD321LJ and a HD501LJ. The 320GB drive is nice and quiet, but it seems that the 500GB drive produces a much more noticable humming sound due to vibration (even though I have it mounted on silicone grommets in the bottom of an Antec N...

Thanks for the tips :) I've also been looking at Gigabyte's cards, but most of them seem to have rather large heatsinks on the back side, which I fear will be difficult to fit in with a large heatsink like the Ninja... I don't mind graphics cards that take up two slots though, since I'm not really g...

Antec NSK3400-based system help!
Hi all, I would very much like to build a near-silent microATX system based on Antec's new NSK3400 case. I am considering the following components, among others: Case: Antec NSK3400 CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Motherboard: ASUS P5B-VM AiLifestyle Series (or another one which will accomodate a Ninja ...

Silent DVD writer short enough for Antec NSK3400?
I am hoping to build a new computer soon, based on the Antec NSK3400 case which has caught my eye. However, one big caveat with this case is the fact that it will only accomodate 5.25" drives which are at most 125mm (6.9") long. Would anyone happen to know of a drive that will actually fit in this c...

Case for silent SFF: Silverstone SG01? Antec NSK1300?
Hi guys, I have long endured the annoying noise level from my Shuttle SN41G2 SFF system, and have finally decided to take the plunge into the realm of silent computing :) I would like to build a new SFF system based on a Core 2 Duo E6600 and an ASUS-made GeForce 7600GS with a small passive heatsink....
