WD AV 500GB (WD5000AVJS)

Can anyone shed some light on this drive? I've still to read a review but i'm wondering if it's quieter than the HD501LJ. It's going on a 24/7 system that i use for tv/movies and music and some gaming. Are there any improvements on the long run over the sammy? With reliability in mind, if it saves m...

I got a similar setup, P35-DS4 and HX520 in a P180B with a noctua 800rpm on the back, another on the lower cage and a scythe 1200 on the middle cage on brackets over my passive gainward 8600gt, all undervolted with speedfan. The northbridge boots at about 40 and idles at 45 although when i overclock...

Ninja fits on the P35-DS4 perfectly although it barely clears from the 1st mem module when you install the fan, so careful with which heat-spreaders you pair with it, unless you go fanless. My temps are good so i just took the fan out. The mobo itself is great although the DS3R is the same just with...

I'm waiting eagerly for a review like that, although I still need to find a Sammy F1 in retail, it's bound to be good with the 3 platter design and i really can't wait anymore, 2x200 maxtor diamondmax just don't cut it.

P35-DS4 codec noise

I'm gettin huge noise on the ALC889a codec that comes with the board. I know it must be interference between the corsair hx520 and board/hdds/dvdr cuz as soon as windows starts so does the noise and if the hdds are active it increases and stops briefly if windows freezes. I've tried without fans (br...

It's most probably the blade design, it howls thru the top blow holes on the p180 when blowing in and either on the bottom cage or the top middle one (w/ brackets), if it's maxed to 920 with speedfan (2x800 here), the frequency is the same. Something in the middle registry, 600-900Hz'ish if i had to...

If there were something like that it would be awesome for my Gainward 8600GT SilenFX, not only to save on electricity and minimize heat but also to save the card a bit, although I'm pretty sure theres nothing that does that.
