8-pin plugs are needed only for CPUs with highest power consumption, like Pentium 4 Extreme Edition. With other CPUs 4-pin is OK, so you can use any 4-to-8-pin adapter, they all will work fine. BTW, if you have some soldering skills, you can replace 4-pin plug with 8-pin and avoid any adapters. You...

What kind of temps do you get at TAT? My temps would scare the **** out of most of the people posting here. My fans run so slowly that TAT causes throttling at 100% (so 85C or 97C depending on which program you believe). Under realistic loads (75% TAT) I see high 70s. Remember, my system is severel...

First of all cmthomson, gratz on our new diy overclocking the conroe - great job, and again, great reading.
I agree that the 70c isn't alarming - but Cor's temps at 70c at stock seems a bit high - I guess a decent heatsink will do it much better. What kind of temps do you get at TAT?
