The NSK3480 is also fine but you'll need both 92mm front fans with that GPU. Are you sure? It doesn't seem like a half height passively cooled card would output that much heat. Were you thinking of a higher end card? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127436&cm_re=hd_4350-_-14...

I've used the Centurion 541 with almost good results. It's a sturdy case with a spot for two 80mm rear fans and one 120mm front fan. The downside is the limited airflow over the drives. There have various mods to solve this. Laptop drives might eliminate the need for a mod. The NSK3480 is also fine ...

Re: Recommended 2.5" external SATA-USB enclosure
I'm looking to move some of my storage to an external 2.5" hard drive. The aim is that it will be on 24/7 in my bedroom. I have identified a SATA hard drive (WD Scorpio Blue 250 GB). Can anybody recommend a USB enclosure available in the UK. My other thought was to get a USB-SATA lead and have the ...

... especially considering the X3 720 beats the X4 910 in some tests. ... I noticed this also. This doesn't make sense. It has to be a bad test with s/w that doesn't use all cores. --- Like others, I would think a 95 tdp would be much better than a 125 tdp. However, the power usage tests I've seen ...

I've been thinking about having the cpu fan connector control the rear fan on a gigabyte mb but haven't tried since it seems that the constant ...

Re: 2 640WD or 1.5TB Seagate? Please Help!
I am new to the SPCR forums. I am in the process of creating a new desktop and noise is a major concern for me. I am purchasing silent PC parts (Antec Sonata Elite case , PC Power & Cooling Silencer PSU, Zalman 9700 CPU fan) along with other parts for a core i7 system. I would rethink that psu and ...

As far as I know, there is a big difference between 5v and 7v mods. There is no possible problem with a correctly wired 5v mod. For 7v, there used to be an admonition that there be a load downstream. This doesn't seem to be the case anymore. There are several etailers selling the 7v mod with no warn...

Tried 2001 bios on a m2a-vm and it didn't resolve a problem vista32 reports in eventVwr about an unusable timer. Says to enable it in bios but there's no option for it - other than HPET which is enabled. This version adds an option for cpu c1e support - don't remember seeing that in previous versions.

If some parts are already out of the case, I would take the remaining out and get it running on a piece of cardboard in a quiet room - no music, tv or people. This article reveals that the antec fans don't spin at 1200,1600,2000 rpm (low, medium, high) as advertised but at 870,1430,1930. The 1080 rpm nexus might be just what you need and are quieter. They're available with open corners now. The 1200 rpm scythe slipstream might work also. I refer to the Fan...
