XBitLabs reviews a fanless case - Nofen Set A40

Nofen Set A40

A small case, suited for ATX.
Also a huge fanless heatsink for the CPU, for a TDP up to 100 Watt.
The case comes with a PSU as well, and not a single fan in the entire case.

Downside is the price.

Re: Super Efficient Cars [very large pictures]

At the end of the 2nd movie, did someone say "blow baby, blow"?

The 3rd movie is so fun to watch, all these volunteers with such enthusiasm! I didn't know Alexandra Paul was involved with "who killed the electric car", that movie is a must see. Period.

Re:

With a dualcore Atom board, 4gb memory, 32gb SSD (for os) & quiet 400w PSU, a base file server in this case would cost <$600. Add Ubuntu server (or WHS for another $100) and you're ready for up to 6 2tb drives. What OS is preferred here, a 32 GB SSD seems overkill...? FreeNAS can be installed on a ...

Used the Noctua NH-U12P (old model) on my E8400 (65 W, dualcore). Idle was <40'C, load never went over 50'C. Bought an i5-760 (95 W, quadcore) and a mounting kit for the cooler. With the same cooler at the same RPM (900-1000 RPM with the ULNA), idle is still <40'C (38'C typical) but load goes up to...

I was afraid you were going to say that... ;) Was hoping for some of the experiences, maybe someone here has changed the CPU in an otherwise unchanged system and remembers/logged the changes in temperature, or rather how much faster the fan had to go to keep things in the same temperature range. Som...

CPU with higher TDP - Impact on needed fan speed?

The description is a bit cryptic... Someone has a 65W CPU and cools it using a heatsink with a fan at 600 RPM. What would be the impact on the needed fan speed if he went for a 95W CPU? Or even a 125W CPU? I try to imagine what the impact would be but it's hard. Most of the time, the CPU will idle o...

In other words, if The Matrix and Inception went head to head at The Oscars, The Matrix would win hands down in most categories. Sad that it's >10 years old, sadder that Hollywood really hasn't progressed much in 10 years. I don't know... When the matrix was released, people said "bullet time" film...

From the mind of "Shamalamadingdong" or something like that. He's made many a dud in the past. The audience actually laughs when they see his name. He's that bad. That's pretty degrading. From the Donnie Darko Wiki: Again, there is great room for different interpretations, but this is more or less what I got from the movie. What I also took away from the movie was that it was Donnie's personal choice to set the universe right (ie., save the 'actual' universe). The calculus seems pre...

Not all movies can be explained... merely experienced. Like Memento? Well... I removed the rear grill and the top front grill.

In theory, removing the grill will improve the airflow 25-40%, because the airflow will have less obstruction.
For the same airflow, the fan(s) will be able to spin at a lower RPM and still achieve the same CFM, and the same cooling.

The further you tighten them up, the more you reach a rigid connection. Tighten them too fast, and you negate the positive property of elastic band.

I used sticky foam (3 mm, one side peel off sticker). Because the fan grill is slightly higher than the top of the case, I cut out one piece of foam in the shape of the fan grill. Ces, I think no matter what arguments one holds, watercooling is not for you. I'll try to reply to your comments and answer your questions: Personally, I think CPU's can "easily" be aircooled. Pick the CPU with care, considering the TDP. The difference between a 65 and 95 W CPU is quite substantial....
