from my experience it doesn't matter how many fans you have if they are at low rpm, and a good noise. if you have good airflow then lower all fans to 600 rpm and you shouldn't be able to hear them, if you can then get nexus or noctuas. once you quiet those down you will probably hear your video card...

I have both fans, and would say the nexus is the same sound as a tricool on low, but produces about the same airflow as a tricool on medium, making it a much more efficient fan.

By motor mounts I am talking about the 4 plastic 'spokes' that hold the fan housing and motor in the center of the fan. The are in direct line of the airflow in any fan.
