Re: P182 beat up to all hell... Now what?

makedomend_item027.jpg Seriously though, you love your case, you could never replace it with something as good for $60 so why not do your bit for the world and fix it! :) Wow, you, sir, are persuasive. As are all of the comments here. I'm going to keep it. Maybe even paint it too if I'm feeling cre...

P182 beat up to all hell... Now what?

I have had my P182 for a while now, and it's served me well. I have moved with it several times and its pretty messed up now. The front door has broken off. The little fan doors are broken and the clips on one of the side panels are broken. I'm thinking of ordering replacement parts from Antec, but ...

Hmmm, after doing some more research, I think I'm going to get the Noctua NH-U12F Heatsink and Fan. It comes with the Noctua fan and it was reviewed favorably on Anandtech. Kind of expensive, but so far all of the options have been when everything is said and done, with the fan, TIM, etc.

I'm shooting for a slightly higher overclock with the 6420, hopefully around 3.2Ghz. And I'll go with the Yate Loon; sounds like a good compromise. Also, do the Ninja's generally need to be lapped? I would only do that if it were really necessary though (I'm not really a freak about temps-- as long ...

Thanks for the reply. I would like to go with the Ninja, but do you think it would be enough for moderate overclocking? I was thinking that I should get a higher-output fan like the 1600RPM Sycthe so that I can turn it up if I need more cooling, but I guess the Nexus would be fine too... Oh, does th...

Quietest Cooling Setup for this System...

I've been reading a lot on this forum, and, besides providing a ton of info, its inspired me to build my next PC to be as quiet as I can manage. I've already decided on most of the components, but I'm not quite sure on some... So, it's an intel E6420, most likely an Intel P35 mobo, in an Antec P182 ...

wow, I'm glad that idea didn't pass my brain's "quality control" and will never actually come to fruition. If you have to tear apart the fridge, whats the point? Or, more importantly, if you can't keep beer in there anymore, what's the point? :)

If it were airtight, how would cooling work? Would water cooling be necessary, or could there just be heatsinks with fans (re: normal air cooling)? I wonder how fans would work in a sealed box... interesting. If it were to be a "closed" system, with no air in or out, then there might as well be very...

That is really strange, because the P182 is supposed to come in a new color, which is a dark gray rather than black. It looks like you got a 180b that has the features of the new 182...

First let me say I have no experience, I'm just giving an completely uneducated opinion. Ok, I think it's a great idea. Especially if you put fans on the radiator inside the fridge. If ambient case air can cool a radiator, refrigerated air can do it even better. The air will be cold instead of warm...

That is the coolest looking case/ liquid-cooling setup I've ever seen. And I usually hate lights and other computer 'bling.' What is that black tubing in the more recent pictures? Are there cables in those tubes? I think you could definately get away with getting rid of the top 120mm case fan, for e...

That's a great looking setup. I am thinking of making a P180 semi-silent PC soon, so I always like to see what other people have done. Do you thin you could post a pic or describe what the potentiometers are in the front of the case? Is it a fan controller or a DIY setup? Does it fit in a bay? Thank...

Hmm, good points. IDK if the fridge would be too weak; it can make ice easily and could easily get the volume of liquid used in a WC system very cold, so if it were being circulated I would think that it could at least keep it cool. Another possiblilty would be to use a passive rad in the fridge, so...

My Minifridge-Watercooling Idea (Ultimate Dormroom Solution)

O.K., I could be insane, but I thought I'd just introduuce this little idea I have to see how feasable it would be. I would set up my computer with a watercooling system, and put the AC pump, radiators and reservoir in the fridge, via holes drilled in the side or back of the fridge (I have a really ...

cool, I'll look for it. ::I found the 'SCURK1' at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835185022 , but it seems to actually replace the thing that holds the CPU in place on the mother board...?? (then allowing the old brackets from the HSF to work on any motherboard?) I just dont get...

Is there any way of knowing what motherboard the Rev. B will work with and what it will not? Does anyone have one on their mobo? (Or does anyone have a mobo that they know will not work with it?)
Thanks

OK, thanks for the advice. BTW, what mobo do you have? Can most Bios's set the fan speed to max at a certain temp like yours? thanks

Cool. Do you know if the Sythe Ninja Rev. B is the same as the original, as in, will it fit most motherboards?

CPU Coolers for new build

So, I'm looking for a good CPU HSF for an E6400 build. I am going to overclock it moderately. the CPU cooler doesn't have to be 'silent,' but I'd like it to be pretty quiet. Here are two that I'm looking at, please suggest others if you want. >>>The well-liked Tuniq Tower (link) seems like a good on...

Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum, and I'm glad I found it because I'm building a computer soon and noise is a concern of mine. I am still undecided as to which case I should get... I am thinking about the P180, which I know is tried and true. The price is good too. Another case I'm looking at is ...
