You said multitouch at the beginning of the review then later refered to as touch screen. Multitouch implies it also works with stylus, and i mean the ones that hover, how the dumb piece of plastic kind of stylus. Can you confirm this? Also, did you guys try taking it appart to see what it looks lik...

If you want µATX and slim, with riser for full size cards, the Lian Li PC-C36 is the only one i know of. However, the PSU is not standard ATX. I think it's rated 300W.

cpu clock affecting ram clock? (specifically phenom)
In the days of the athlon, the CPU clock affected the RAM clock and only certain CPU clocks would ensure full RAM clocks, if i remember correctly it had to be a multiple of the RAM clock. I was wondering if the phenom has the same behaviour? I'm using 800mHz ram so getting multiples is not a big dea...

Apex MD-100. You can fit two 3.5" HDD in it. Or if you put a small video card on the top slot, you can still fit 1x 3.5" and 1x2.5". And if you want to mod it, you could have a top-down silent 120mm fan too. Here's what i did:

That's not RMClock, thats RM Memory Analyser.... Look for "RightMark CPU Clock Utility (RMClock)" in the download section. "NOTE: Support for 64-bit Windows Vista is currently limited due to the kernel mode driver digital signature requirement of that OS (workarounds are necessary)." I haven't looke...

From what i'm reading off the wall, my computer is maxing at 150W, so the PSU still has headroom. I suppose that for an extra 50W or so could get you quite a decent video card if you wanted. In my case, the only thing i still need in to add is an SSD, and replace the barracuda with F2 or GP, such as...

If you weren't gonna put a discrete video card on the mini-itx, and run from a pico-psu or comparable psus, i would have gone for a smaller case if i were you. With a case like this, not putting a discrete video card is kind of a waste (unless you're putting a passive tower heatsink in there or some...

I didn't read the article but i imagine i know what it's about. It's called short stroking. It's old like the planet, but with each generation it gets better and better. The same can be achieved with partitionning. You can always put the data partitions in the inner disc, and if it doesn't access it...

Upgraded CPU to athlon II x2 250. Added optical drive and changed the fan (now satisfactorily quiet). All that's missing now is a nice SSD to serve as the OS drive and upgrading the HDD to a large 5600rpm drive would be nice. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/spare_tire/misc/minix_xfire_007_opti...

Hey guys, check out my minix build here: http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=54345 (I think i poste in the wrong forum) No need for 40mm fan on the chipset as my 120mm fan spans both the CPU and the chipset. Does anyone get correct temperature readings for the NB in bios though? Min...

The review says it has excellent airflow but it's quite noisy because it's so open. I wonder if being open like this would be a plus for a close to all passive setup.

Tried both K10stat and PhenomMsrTweaker now. I have the new Athlon II X2 250 on a J&W Minix 780G motherboard. Using CPU-Z to validate my undervolt, at 800MHz, no matter how low i set the voltage CPU-Z never goes below 1.2V. Setting it at 1600MHz (FID 0, DID 0), the voltage never goes below 1.192V. H...

Sorry for the necro revive. Actually, the program doesn't change P-states by itself, it seems. And it's not developed anymore.
So what about AMD Overdrive? Can you undervolt with overdrive?

Well, i'm basically sending this home to my parents. I doubt they'll be able to play around with the alternate ways of getting HD movies! DVD for now at least. Once the new fan arrives, it'll be back to grating off some more. Then i'll put in the optical drive (maybe later a bluray if they become cheap). I'll replace the barracuda with maybe a samsung F2 or a WD green as storage and an SSD as OS drive. Asside from that, it's pretty much done. Draws around ...

Regarding partition alignment, i am under the impression that the starting offset is dependant of how big the flash block is, and that depends on what's used in each drive? The OCZ recommends 128kb offset, but can that be extrapolated to other drives? I read intel drives can only erase in blocks of ...
