You're in luck. I have an E6600 + 2x1024MB OCZ Platinum Rev2 PC6400 4-4-4 and I do x264 encoding a lot. I ordered the XFX 7600GT passive based on so many positive internet reviews. Plus, don't waste your money on a high-end card that isn't even dx10 now. You will likely replace the card this year!

thanks for the pics unibomber

looks like it is bright as hell :x

i asked for it as a birthday present. i do love the minimalist styling like you said and all its noise reduction, inards, etc. i'm sure i'll find a way to sleep with it on. the leds weren't going to detour me from buying it.

Antec Solo LEDs

Are there pics anywhere of what this looks like in a dark room? Is it annoyingly bright? I like the LEDs on the 3700BQE, they are dim, almost too dim for the HD indicator. What colour are the LEDs on the Solo? I'll end up leaving it on most of the time. I've seen pics all over the net of this case b...

XFX Fatality

Has anyone bought this yet? Tell me about it!

Looks to be the fastest 7600GT money can buy.

If you get a 7900GS now you'll just want to hang on to it longer. I'd get the XFX now and possibly upgrade again come DX10 (whatever NVIDIA comes out with after the current 8000 series).

AGP? 64bit? Well the reason is your video card - you need a much better one. A 7600GT like the new passive XFX or Sparkle look pretty impressive. I am putting the XFX in my system once I buy the parts. http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2769348&CatId=0 Noiseles...

I'm impressed. Not only is it the fastest 7600GT, it is passive

Anyone know if this will fit in a SOLO case with an ultra-90 cpu cooler?

Anyone have a clue what power connection it uses? A comment at Newegg said it does not use 6-pin PCIe.

Think I'm going with the Thermalright ultra-90 heh. I can pick-up Nexus fans and the heatsink from Bigfootcomputers in Toronto. The 7700 seems to be just as quiet as the 7000 which would be the loudest part of the system I forsee. This would be a better cooling solution for the XFX inside the case.

I really want to buy the Corsair too. I realize it is overpowered but it is so bloody quiet!! 22db up to 300w is sick :P

I'd recommend you go for the 320GB model of the SE16. Both models have 3 platters except the 320GB uses higher density ones.

I really think 2GB RAM is overrated even for people who think they need it. Run good low memory AV (Kaspersky), manually run your scans, stop unnecessary tray icons, kill services you don't need, etc. You're better off with 1GB low latency DDR800 RAM IMO. 8)

Okie 8) I decided to go with a Zalman 7700 AlCu instead because it's quieter (than the 9500) and comes with the fan. The Scythe or Thermalright would end up costing more plus the only dealers are downtown. I'm not overclocking and if anything my P4 Northwood should be the hottest CPU I ever own. :sh...
