After some further research I think you guys may be right about not being on the bleeding edge. I did some googling and here's what I came up with on 32bit vs. 64bit Vista: Vista: Should I Install 64-bit or 32-bit Version? Microsoft to require signed drivers for 64-bit Vista Microsoft Vista 64 bit i...

Thanks for the link, it's an interesting read. My take is that Vista may certainly have some growing pains with drivers but I'm guessing these will get worked out within the first 6 months. I guess for me the benefit of being able to use 4GB of RAM for applications like Photoshop outweighs the downs...

Ready to pull the trigger - any feedback appreciated
I'm building a new PC and I would appreciate any advice you guys have. The goal is a quiet and fast (overclocked) system based on an E6600 processor. I plan to run Vista as the OS and the main applications will be high res photo editing and gaming. Down the road I plan to add a large RAID array for ...

Well if you do decide to mod yours lemme know how it goes :). For me the time it would take to do it is worth more to me than the cost of buying a better case, so I'm still looking at smaller-scale solutions. You were asking about a single 120mm intake vs. two 80mm's. I'd say with the LC03 the more ...

I'm in a very similar situation (see forum thread here: http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=37339). Airflow is a huge problem in the LC03 case, so you're going to need every bit of help you can get. A better PSU, a proper CPU cooler, a good GPU cooler, an intake fan, and dual exhaus...

I guess if I have to I could go as far as the systemcooling.com guys did, but at that point all the labor is probably worth more to me than the cost of just buying a new case/PSU/fanset that is built for cooling. I did a little more investigation and found out that the case airflow is indeed a huge ...

Silverstone LC03 - help needed
About 2 years ago I figured I'd build a nice quiet HTPC system. Unfortunately I hadn't discovered this excellent site and knew very little about building a quiet computer. What I ended up with is a moderately low noise system that runs VERY hot. I've lived with it for a long time, but now I'm hoping...
