couple of days ago I played something on my rig and I realized that my passive x1950xt reached 130 C on the voltage regulators. so I tied a SlipStream on it and it worked like a charm. I think it reached around 70 C on load. as a side note, the slipstream blocked SATA channels 0 & 1 on my gigabyte M...

well, I believe I'm getting close to my goal. the latest addition is the OCZ Vendetta 2 with a SlipStream 500 fan. my CPU temps have decreased by 3 degrees celsius but my HDD and MB temps have increased by roughly the same amount. my next task is to try and direct the airflow in the case with some m...

well I managed to swap the PSU fan with a SlipStream without getting electrocuted. I also changed the Noctua with a SlipStream. for now I like it but unfortunately I didn't document the temps before swapping stuff today. now I just have to decide between Xigmatek and OCZ Vendetta2. Xigmatek is in hi...

I seem to have a similar problem on my 2nd PC. When idling it's not so noticeable but when I start, for example, the BOINC folding agent it becomes pretty annoying. I opened up the case and listened a bit and it seems it's coming from the PSU. I stopped the fan so it's not it. I know it's not the sa...

just an update on SprayCool: It's a general principle of electrical engineering that volts and fluid don't mix, which is why one is ill-advised to balance a Pepsi can on one's CPU. I first saw SprayCool technology at the Navy League show in Washington a year ago, and the sight of a computer in a tra...

Does anyone have any experience with Antec Solo + Scythe Ninja + Gigabyte P35-DS3 Rev.1 combination? Or Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme (instead of Ninja). I did read about some problems with Ultra-120 and the Solo case. And I would like to keep the airflow mostly horizontal. On the other hand, I am ...

Do your friends think you are crazy?
I did a little search and didn't find anything so... I had a couple of friends at home yesterday so I asked them to come to my room and hear the noise of my PC. After they heard it they all looked at me like I was some kind of a freak and sad that I had a problem. This is not the first time that som...
